Video upload requirements and limits
Gan Jing World supports common video file types including AVI, MOV, MP4, and MPEG. Uploads made through the Post function are limited to 200MB — use Upload Video in Creator Studio for larger files — and each account can upload up to 50 pieces of content per day.
Before publishing a video, make sure it is in a supported file type and that all required fields marked with an asterisk (*) are filled in: the video file, thumbnail, title, category, visibility, language, and privacy setting. If you upload through the Post function, files are limited to 200MB, so larger videos should be uploaded through Creator Studio instead. A daily limit of 50 uploads per account applies to all content types, including videos, Shorts, articles, live streams, and premieres.
Supported file types#
Supported video file types include AVI, MOV, MP4, and MPEG. Word documents (.doc/.docx) are not directly supported — convert them into an article or text post, or upload the content in image format instead.
File size limits#
- Uploads through the Post function are limited to 200MB.
- For larger files, upload through Creator Studio instead: open Creator Studio, click the Create Content tab near the top right corner, and select Upload Video.
Daily upload limit#
Due to administrative reasons, each account can upload no more than 50 pieces of content per day. The limit covers videos, Shorts, articles, live streams, premieres, and other content.
Required fields to publish#
All fields marked with an asterisk (*) must be filled in before you can publish a video or article. For videos, the required fields include the video file, thumbnail, title, category, visibility, language, and privacy setting.
Shorts requirements#
If a video's height is greater than or equal to its width and its duration is less than 20 minutes, it is automatically categorized as a Short. It is recommended to create Shorts from the GJW mobile app so you can better preview the fit-in size.
Thumbnail and logo size#
There is no specific size requirement for thumbnails. To find the size for your channel logo, click your profile picture in the upper right corner, open Creator Studio, click Channel Settings at the bottom left of the screen, then select Basic Info.
If an upload fails or is slow#
- Check that every required (*) field is filled in — a missing field is the most common cause of a failed upload.
- Upload speed depends on your device, browser, local network speed, the video's type and size, and upload traffic.
- Use Chrome or Safari, and use a computer to upload long videos.
- Try uploading at a different time to avoid peak traffic periods.
- If the issue persists, clear your browser cache, or restart your home network and your computer or device, then try again.
