How do billing and payments work?

Billing cycle and auto-renewal#

• Subscription plans are prepaid and automatically renewed at the end of each subscription period unless canceled.
• Your billing cycle is either monthly or yearly depending on the subscription plan you picked.
• You are automatically charged on the first day of each billing cycle.
• The payment method on file is used to make the renewal payment.
• Your next billing date is shown on the "Purchases & Subscriptions" page under "Next billing date".
• Cancel at least 24 hours before your billing cycle ends to avoid the next renewal charge. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, so you keep access until then, and no refund or credit is given for the remaining days.

How charges are processed#

• Payments on the website are processed by Gan Jing World's payment provider.
• Checkout accepts credit and debit cards, and additional payment options may be offered at checkout.
• Charges are made in US dollars wherever you are, so your bank may add its own conversion or foreign transaction fee.
• Applicable taxes, duties and fees are added to the price of the paid service.

If a renewal payment fails#

When a renewal charge is declined, the subscription is shown with a "Past Due" status on your "Purchases & Subscriptions" page. What that means:

• Under the paid service terms, you must provide new payment information or the subscription will be canceled.
• If the new payment information is charged successfully, the new subscription period is still based on the original renewal date, not the date of the successful charge.

To update the payment information on file, sign in to your account, click your account icon in the top-right corner, select "Memberships & Purchases", open "Payments & Settings" and click "Manage Payment Method" to access the billing portal and update your payment information.

Switching from monthly to yearly#

If you have an active monthly subscription, you will see a "Switch to Yearly" button on the "Purchases & Subscriptions" page. After you click the button:

• A screen will display the amount due today, including a prorated credit for the unused portion of your current monthly plan.
• After you confirm the payment, the change will take effect and you can access the benefits immediately.

Price changes and taxes#

Prices for Paid Services, including recurring subscription fees, are subject to change from time to time.

• Gan Jing World provides reasonable advance notice of any material price change, excluding pricing changes due to changes in applicable taxes.
• The new price takes effect at the beginning of the next subscription period after the change date.
• If you do not agree with a price change, you can cancel before it takes effect.

Subscriptions billed through Apple#

Subscriptions started inside the iOS app are billed by Apple through your Apple account.

• Apple-billed plans still appear on the "Purchases & Subscriptions" page.
• Their card shows a "Manage" link instead of a cancel or resume button.
• The link opens Apple's own subscription support page.
• Changes, cancellations and refunds all have to be made there through Apple.
