What happens when you cancel GJW+?

Canceling a GJW+ subscription stops future charges — it does not end your access immediately. You keep full member access until the end of the current billing period (the period you already paid for), and then the subscription simply expires. There are no further charges after that.

What you keep#

  • Full member access until the end of the current billing period — the plan card on the Subscriptions tab shows the exact "Benefits end" date.
  • Your account, watch data, and collections/playlists — none of these are affected by canceling.
  • Any purchased or rented movies: purchases stay in your digital locker, whose Locker Period runs for at least 5 years from the purchase date, independent of the subscription.

What you lose when the period ends#

Only the benefits your plan pays for become unavailable when the paid period ends — for example:

  • Premium GJW+ movies and TV shows.
  • VIP exclusive programs and full access to Gan Jing Kids, on the plans that include them.
  • Ad-free viewing, on the plans that include it.

Everything else on your account stays as it was.

Refunds#

There are no partial refunds. The Paid Service Terms state:

  • No refunds or credits are provided for any remaining days in your current billing period.
  • Payments for Paid Services are final and not refundable or exchangeable, except where the Paid Service is defective or as required by applicable law.

Consumers in the EU and UK have 14 days after purchase to withdraw from the contract. See the GJW+ refund policy for details.

Changed your mind?#

  • Before the period ends: the plan card shows a "Resume Subscription" button — click it and confirm with "Reactivate" to continue seamlessly. Nothing is lost, and billing continues on the original cycle.
  • Right after canceling: the confirmation page offers a "Continue your membership" button that restores the subscription on the spot.
  • After the period ends: resubscribe from the GJW+ plans page. You pick from the current plans at their current prices — a promotional price you had before may no longer apply, as there is no price protection.

Verify the cancellation worked#

After canceling, the plan on the Subscriptions tab should show the status "Cancelled" with a "Benefits end" date, and the button on the card changes to "Resume Subscription".

If you see a charge after canceling, check whether you have a second account with its own subscription, or whether the resume button was clicked by accident.

Subscriptions billed through Apple (App Store) behave the same way — access continues until the period ends — but cancellation and any refunds are handled by Apple, not by Gan Jing World.

Tip

Pausing a subscription is not available. If you want a break, cancel now — you keep access until the period ends — and resubscribe whenever you are ready.

You pick from the current plans at their current prices when you resubscribe. The Paid Service Terms state that Gan Jing World does not provide price protection, so a promotional price you had before may no longer apply.
Can I pause my subscription instead of canceling?+
No, pausing is not available. Cancel your subscription and resubscribe later instead.
I subscribed through Apple. Is it the same?+
The access-until-period-end behavior is the same, but cancellation and any refunds are handled by Apple (App Store) rather than by Gan Jing World. Subscriptions started in the Android app are billed like website purchases, so everything on this page applies to them unchanged.
