Russian Z-bloggers were shocked by the news of the bombing of the "Upyr" drone manufacturer, the well-known propagandist Vladimir Tkachuk. They realized that Ukraine was also winning the war against the intelligence services. In the first days of August, two high-profile events occurred that left Z-patriots unmoved. First, an explosion occurred at a restaurant in central Moscow during the celebration of the 55th birthday of Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces Alexander Chaiko. A couple of days later, on August 4, Tkachuk, who manufactured drones for the Russian army, was blown up. Following these incidents, Russian military officer and Z-war correspondent Maxim Klimov noted the degradation of Russian intelligence services. Ukrainian intelligence, he added, has increased its capabilities.
"We need a very serious reform of our intelligence services. We need to acknowledge that the adversary in Ukraine, through its intelligence services, has won against us by a score, if not equal to Argentina versus Jamaica, then close to it!" he declared. Z-patriot Maxim Kalashnikov made a similar statement. "Vladimir Tkachuk, a popular war correspondent and developer of the Upyr drone, was blown up in his car in the Sverdlovsk region. This follows an assassination attempt on senior military officials in a Moscow restaurant... It's time to talk about Ukrainian intelligence agencies attacking our intelligence and counterintelligence services. A crisis in our intelligence services... So, Ukrainian intelligence is targeting our drone developers. But their counterparts in Ukraine are alive and well... And here the raw materials-based corruption system is collapsing," Kalashnikov wrote. The popular Russian Z-channel "Voevoda Broadcasts" is angrily demanding retaliatory strikes against Ukraine. "Yeah, right! The Ukrainians are succeeding again! Where are the mirror responses?" the propaganda outlet wrote. Z-war correspondent Alexei Zhivov published a post offering advice to his colleagues and high-ranking Russian officials on how to avoid liquidation. He urges them to "look around everywhere," change their schedules and routes, refuse courier services, and conceal their identities, children, and family. "Always live as if it were your last day," advises Zhivov. Far-right Russian Z-blogger Alex Parker Returns, who lives outside of Russia, openly blamed Vladimir Putin for the current situation. "Thanks to a wise former intelligence officer who turned Russia into a public thoroughfare, the Ukrainian bombers continue their work. Near Yekaterinburg, the car of the director of the Upyr drone manufacturing company was blown up. A Mercedes exploded in Bolshoy Istok. The car burned to the ground. The company's director, Vladimir Tkachuk, was seriously injured and taken to intensive care... Tkachuk was the author of a Telegram channel, obsessed with war, and actively promoted FPV drones in the army. His security guard died on the spot.
