First visit since the war: Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister arrives in Kyiv on an important mission

A high-ranking guest from Baku, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, arrived in Ukraine. This is his first visit to the country since the full-scale war. Details and footage were released by Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Bayramov began his visit in Irpen. There, he visited a school, a hospital, and a rehabilitation center supported by Azerbaijan. After this, he arrived in Kyiv, where he met with Zelensky. "I informed them about Russia's ongoing strikes on Ukraine, the situation in the Black Sea, and Russia's blocking of grain corridors. We discussed high-level diplomatic contacts, defense and economic cooperation in energy, oil and gas, and agriculture," Zelenskyy said. He thanked Baku for its economic and humanitarian support, as well as for the "constructive dialogue." During his visit, Bayramov laid flowers at the Wall of Remembrance for Ukrainian soldiers who died during Russian aggression. He held talks with his Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Sybiha and the head of the Presidential Office, Kyrylo Budanov. "We discussed current developments and prospects for bilateral relations, the regional and international security situation, and emphasized the importance of maintaining dialogue and cooperation on issues of regional stability and security," the minister noted . The expansion of cooperation in the political, economic, energy, transport and humanitarian spheres was also discussed. "Our countries are linked by a strategic partnership based on the principles of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation," Bayramov stated. It is worth noting that this is the first visit to Ukraine by a high-ranking Azerbaijani official in four and a half years of the Great War.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha thanked Azerbaijan for its humanitarian aid. "We are grateful to Azerbaijan for its assistance from the first days of the full-scale invasion: for the restoration of civilian infrastructure in Irpen, humanitarian aid, equipment for energy facilities, and much more. We will always remember this. We thank the President of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani people, and the government of Azerbaijan," he said. Sybiha highly praised Azerbaijan's principled position in support of Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty. "Ukraine has always supported and continues to support Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity. This is the unwavering foundation of our relations," he added. Furthermore, Sybiha noted that over the past and current years, we have observed new dynamics in the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Azerbaijan, as well as an intensification of contacts at all levels. Recall, Russia twice struck Azerbaijani businesses in Ukraine with drones. On July 5, a gas station belonging to the Azerbaijani state-owned company SOCAR on the Odessa-Mykolaiv highway was hit, as was a gas station in Izyum, Kharkiv Oblast. According to a law enforcement source at EP , a SOCAR gas station in the village of Nechayane, located approximately 30 kilometers from Mykolaiv, was attacked by two attack drones. The first strike was recorded at 7:16 PM, the second at 7:33 PM. The source noted that as early as July 3, monitoring resources warned of a high probability of massive Russian strikes, including against gas stations up to 150 kilometers from the front line. Gas stations of various chains in the Mykolaiv region, including SOCAR facilities, were named among potential targets.
