Not just Wildberries: Ukrainian Armed Forces have begun attacking Ozon warehouses in Russia

Ukrainian Defense Forces launched an airstrike on the Ozon marketplace logistics center in the Republic of Tatarstan, part of Russia. This is the first Ukrainian drone strike against Ozon. A video has surfaced on social media showing a Ukrainian drone attacking an Ozon warehouse. The logistics center is said to be located in Zelenodolsk, Tatarstan. The video shows a large number of Ozon employees running out of the warehouse, while an airplane-type UAV flies nearby. Seconds later, the drone explodes just a few dozen meters from the warehouse complex.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces have never previously targeted Ozon logistics centers, limiting their attacks to Wildberries facilities. It is possible that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will now expand their strikes to another major Russian marketplace. As a reminder, since July 18, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been regularly carrying out airstrikes on Wildberries warehouses, as they are legitimate targets. This marketplace sells goods for the "SVO" and helps the Russian military-industrial complex obtain sanctioned goods, for example, UAV components.
Ukrainian attack drones have a new military target in Russia: the country's largest e-commerce warehouses. According to Business Insider , at least 10 facilities belonging to Wildberries, Russia's largest online retailer, have been hit by Ukrainian strikes over the past two weeks.
In particular, the Wildberries Group reported gross merchandise sales of approximately $73 billion last year. It is estimated that the company lost over 9% of its warehouse space as a result of the July attacks alone.
The publication emphasized that, like Amazon, it operates an online platform that allows sellers to list their products for sale and use its warehouses to store their inventory before delivery. This means that the goods destroyed in the strikes belonged primarily to private entrepreneurs. Wildberries vendors also sell tactical equipment, dual-use goods, and drone components, which Ukraine cited as the reason for the attack.
State-owned Sberbank has already announced that approximately 300 companies with loans have requested payment deferrals or changes to their terms following the attacks. Sberbank added that it may have to increase its reserves to cover overdue loans.
Meanwhile, on July 7, Wildberries amended its compensation policy to include drone and missile strikes as force majeure circumstances, absolving the company of liability for the loss of sellers' goods.
Experts estimate that two Ukrainian strikes on July 21 cost retailers at least $1.87 billion in goods. Since then, eight more warehouses have suffered powerful drone strikes.
Wildberries promised to compensate some businesses for losses, although it did not disclose the extent of the losses.
The publication emphasized that it is still unclear what unmanned aerial systems Ukraine used to attack the warehouses. Fire Point, which produces one of the most widely used long-range attack drones, stated that its FP-1 propeller-driven drone was used in at least one attack in Ryazan.
