Kira the Husky Freaked Out | Camping With Dogs

Well, good, wonderful, beautiful, foggy morning Pawdience! Look it! It's been foggy all morning here! Trees are changing! There's so much color up here! That's a pretty tree right there! We are currently packing up here and getting ready to go to the last campground of the trip. Greg is at work right now, but he's supposed to be heading up here to meet us. Oh! Did you get a fly? Heading up here to meet us tonight. We're heading over to Muskellunge Lake Campground for the next two nights and then we're going home. The next two days of camping is going to be more of a relaxed trip with rock hunting. Not doing a whole lot. Well, maybe. I don't know. Greg's bringing Jamie's Jeep up, which I'm sure we'll tell you a little bit about later. Notice we said he's bringing Jamie's Jeep up, not his. Yeah, his is broken. That will be another project when we get back home. But anyway, we're getting ready. Packing up and leaving the campground. Look at this fog! Up above the hill. Poof! Gone! Can we see Bishop Berriga up there in the fog? The larches and the trees there. A little bit. There's a statue there. We have arrived! We are at Muskellunge Lake Campground now. We're here with my Jeep. There's a lot of people at this campground today. The dogs are already excited at all the other dogs they can see. Greg should be here in about two and a half hours. Hey! You're supposed to be being quiet. That's not very quiet. We know there's other dogs. It's okay. She saw another husky and got really excited. Hey! Why so scritchy? To get bit by a skeeter? You need more wonder side? Okay, we'll put more wonder side on you. I don't actually know what time it is. I know it's after the dogs dinner time because they already ate. Now we're making dinner. It is hot and humid still. What is with this weather in the middle of September? It's ridiculous. It's sticky. It is cooling off. We're making pizza again. It's just so good on the fire. If you haven't had it, don't knock it, right? Right? These girls are like, We get pizza? You don't get pizza. Sorry. We got Greg's tent set up for him. Kind of. We don't think it's staying there. Then Jamie's got a fire going over here. This is a nice big campsite that we have here too. Which is kind of nice. The sun just set over there. We did not make it down to go agate hunting before the sun went down. But I'm sure the boys will go rock hunting in the dark. It's half the reason we came here. We're gonna make some dinner and prepare for that. Eventually Jamie's Jeep will arrive. Greg too. But Jamie's Jeep as well. Oh my goodness! We missed the insanity. But Kira freaked out when Greg got here. Are you okay now? Memphis kind of did too. But Kira really freaked out. I wasn't expecting that. I had to calm Memphis. Memphis is like... That's why you want pets. But I'll take anybody's pets. Wow! Kira! Are you okay now? She's like, I'm not okay yet. I'm not okay. It's not enough yet. I need more. Hey! Welcome back! Hi Greg! Hey look! Jamie's Jeep is here. It's over there in the dark. Are you happy? Yeah, he's happy to see his Jeep too. Get up here all by itself camping usually. I know, right? It's there. It's right there over there in the dark. Are you talking to them too? I didn't forget you. They're all excited. Alright, Greg needs some food. Do you want to tell everybody why Jamie's Jeep is here and not yours? It was an accident. I left my house. Luckily I was only a mile from my house. When I pulled on the pave road and took off. It started doing this. I pulled over and looked. The whole... I'll insert a photo right here. Yeah. What's that plate called? Plate? You got it there? Skid plate. Skid plate. That's it. The whole skid plate dropped on one side. The transfer case and the transmission are now hanging down at a goofy angle. Driveshafts like this. They're mounted to that skid plate. When did that happen? Sunday morning. It was literally like the day we left or the day after. Yeah, the second day. We were leaving Grand Marais and heading to the next campground when we got that message from you. We like debated on turning around. The day you left, I was out of town with my Jeep. I was actually all the way down. Yeah, you were a couple of hours away. It's a good thing it didn't happen when you were down there. I got really lucky actually that it was leaving my house in less than a mile or about a mile. Yeah. You're not going like super fast or even... Even at that you had to slow down. I think going down the dirt road it broke loose because it was on when I left. Oh, and then you bounced down the road. Going down the driveway it was clunking bad. So that's your project when you get home, huh? I don't know. That sounds fun. But because of that... Oh, the camera's all unfocused. Hold on, we'll fix it so you guys can... There, now show it. There it is. Yes, your Jeep is here. You're silly. Go check your food. Don't burn your food, guys. Yep, so Greg's Jeep is broke. It's gonna be a project to fix. The camera does not like to focus in this low light. Get that book. You got it. You got it. Memphis is over there and for some reason she won't lay on the mat so she's super dirty. I'm gonna have to brush her off before we put her inside. You guys are making pizza and then I think they're gonna go rock hunting. Look at these puppers. This one's all stretched out. That one's all stretched out. Camera's all fuzzy. Kind of like the dogs. Hold on a sec. Oh, there we go. There we go. So I brought my switch. At this particular campground we don't have service. Oh my goodness, Memphis. Oh, I see you back there. I see you. Oh, hold on a second. There, is that better camera? Is that a little bit more light so we can see what's going on? Oh Memphis, you're so dirty. I forgot the baby wipes. I normally bring unscented baby wipes to wipe them down and I forgot them. She's really dirty. I'm gonna have to use a washcloth. Yeah, so the guys ended up... Wow, you chewed that up pretty good. They're going rock hunting. Greg and Jamie left for some rock hunting. I brought my switch because like I said there's virtually no internet here. I'm charging it right now. I've been playing some games on that while they're down there doing that. When they get back, we might make some s'mores. Yes you guys, Memphis really is as dirty as she looks on this camera. There's a mat out there and you chose to lay on the ground. What were you thinking? I was thinking I'd like to get dirty mom. I just want to be dirty. Well, you did it girl. You did it. So the guys are back from rock hunting. I can't believe I'm gonna say this but I'm actually cold and I wasn't even outside with you guys. So show me the ember lights that you found Jamie. Okay, sorry. This is a really cool piece of coral. It's almost turned to glass. Wow, and it really lights up crazy with the black light. The little ones that Jamie found. So not a whole lot tonight. A couple little ones and then a couple big ones. And then... I think I put mine in my pocket. Hang on. That one is kind of cool though. I'm not getting the yellow glasses. We're just looking at them this way. And then these three are the ones that Greg found. But what else did you find? Can I make it work? You can clearly see that. Remember the glow in the dark rocks? The calcite orbs we showed you guys the other day? Greg found some. That's so crazy. It really wants to stick. And then some of them little ones you said are the same thing? Yeah, some of these are. Not as much as that one. No, that one that Greg just picked up does. Some of them only do in spots. Look at this one here. And... Yeah, that one definitely does. Is this one one? This was one too. Oh yeah. That's so crazy. Yeah, that's pretty neat. Yeah, they were cool. That's really cool. I love how that just glows afterwards. So you just picked it up under the black light pretty much, huh? It just looked like that. And you know how many orange rocks we've just passed on by? But there's so many of them that do it. These were just the easiest ones to pick up and carry. We had a big one like that that was glowing and I'm like, no. So it's not like the greatest haul you've ever had, but... No, we still found some rocks. Still better than nothing. I got a nice bright one and that's what I wanted. Yeah, cool. That one's not bad either. Pretty cool. Yay! It's late. Yeah, it is late. Very late. I filled your bed with rocks. That's okay. It's not the first time. Alright guys. We're calling it a night. It's quite a bit cooler tonight, which is amazing. Hopefully we don't have to run the AC all night. Kira's snuggled up here.
