Eleanor and I are waking up for day two of our special solo road trip in Indiana, and we started the day with some amazing news from home. Jamie called to let me know that Memphis slept all the way through the night on her living room air mattress, which was my biggest concern about leaving the everyone behind. Since she did so great, I am officially staying another night to do some more exploring with Eleanor!
Our first big stop of the day was heading over to the Jayco media event to check out the brand new, unreleased 2027 Jay Flight series trailers! Eleanor was a total champion walking through all the different rigs, including a massive one with a loft, a fireplace, and even a washer and dryer hookup that felt like a complete house. It definitely made me reminisce about our first trailer, and I even found one that would be absolutely perfect for my mom and dad to take the kids camping.
After leaving Jayco, we spent the rest of our beautiful, sunny day exploring Amish country and finding some incredible pet-friendly spots. We hiked a section of the paved Pumpkinvine Trail surrounded by purple flowers that smelled amazing, and then we discovered the Wellfield Botanical Gardens, which just started letting dogs visit this year! Eleanor got to see gorgeous fountains, a man-made waterfall, and even a couple of "cobra chickens" with their tiny babies. We wrapped up our big day with a short loop trail at American Park, where we spotted a giant red squirrel, a hidden groundhog, and some very protective geese. Back home, Jamie caught the backyard house finch babies officially fledging the nest and flying up into the trees. It has been such an incredible day of making memories with Eleanor, but we are definitely missing Dad and the other girls and are ready to head home tomorrow!
