Ukrainian special forces from the “Wings of Omega” unit have struck Russian military equipment more than 50 kilometers from the front line with the use of Hornet drones. Two videos released on social media show the destruction of Russian forces and military equipment in separate strikes. In one video, Russian vehicles moving along a road are targeted by a drone and destroyed in a series of impacts. Smoke and flames can be seen rising from the vehicles following the strikes. Another video shows several pieces of Russian military equipment traveling along a road with troops on board. The formation is targeted, with the vehicles and personnel hit in the attack. One of the trucks appears to have a mounted machine gun or other weapon, which is also struck during the assault.
According to the unit, fixed-wing drones equipped with self-guidance systems are being used to engage Russian targets at long range, leaving them little opportunity to evade the incoming strikes. The reported targets include military trucks, armored combat vehicles and pickup trucks, with footage showing several vehicles engulfed in flames after being hit.
