How do your dogs handle big summer thunderstorms? Oh my gosh, what a wild and crazy weather day here in Michigan! We went from a miserable, hot, and humid morning with temperatures feeling like 120 degrees out in the sun, straight into a severe storm warning with 80 mph wind gusts. It was definitely way too hot for Siberian Huskies outside, so we had to hunker down indoors where the AC was nice and cool. I tried to rush to the store to beat the rain, and let's just say I made it back to Jamie and the dogs just in the nick of time before the sky completely opened up!
The wind hit us hard and even knocked over my tomato plant, but Kira and Eleanor were completely unfazed by the loud thunder and lightning. They were just living their best lives doing belly-up snoozes on the cooling mat and going a little stir crazy inside. Once the worst of the front passed and the temperature dropped, Jamie and I snuck out for a quick electric scooter ride down to the lake to check out the driftwood and look for beach glass before heading back to give the dogs a short evening walk in the thick, sticky humidity.
We ended the night watching a movie, only for another massive round of storms to roll through right around midnight. You won't believe the insane, ridiculous timing we caught on camera when we went to check out the lightning out front! It was the perfect crazy end to a very dramatic summer day. Life is short, make memories with your dogs!

A vlog documenting a day of extreme weather, featuring the owners managing their Huskies during intense heat and severe storms. The day is marked by rapid temperature shifts, high humidity, and wind gusts, with the owners balancing errands, pet care, and outdoor activities.
Oh my gosh.
Did you just, oh, that's what they're looking at. They're like, hmmm, there's food.
Yeah, I would say good, wonderful, beautiful morning. Look at her. What's she looking at?
I would say good, wonderful, beautiful morning Pawdience, but it's more like good, miserable, hot and humid morning, Pawdience.
What did the thing say this morning? Over 120 in the sun?
Yeah, it was like 140 in the sun.
Yeah, it's crazy. I always forget that when I'm filming, if my phone rings, it cuts us off.
Because I do all this on my phone. That's coming straight for us.
So I am gonna go run to the store as fast as possible.
They say three hours and it's supposed to get gnarly. 80 mile an hour wind gusts.
Yeah, so anything that can blow away, we should...
It's coming right for us. I gotta go to the store. Okay, I'm going to the store. Be good. You're going inside anyway.
I'm not leaving you out here.
I'm already sweating and we've only been out here not even five minutes. Come on. Let's go. Come on. Let's go inside.
It's way nicer inside. Yeah, this is miserable. This is too hot for Huskies.
Too hot for Huskies. You too, ma'am. I know, look at you. You're like, ma, it's so hot out. I know, it's so hot out.
Okay, inside we go. Holy moly, it's crazy out there, huh?
Crazy out there. All right, I'm running to the store to grab some things.
It says that it's not supposed to start raining till around one.
So I am gonna go as fast as possible to the store and get back here before it rains.
That's the plan. Be good. Be good. I told you it was hot outside. It's crazy. It's kind of hot in here.
Should I turn the ACs up? It's at 72.
I think you'll be okay. Yeah, that cooling mat's amazing, huh?
Yeah, now you know why your sister loved it so much. That escalated faster than we thought it would.
I thought I had enough time to run to the store and make it back.
But it was pouring down rain a second ago. There's a little bit of a break in the weather right now.
So I have one more store to run to. I'm gonna go do that and hopefully make it back before the crazy storm hits.
Be good. Be good.
Is that a scritchy leg? I'm gonna get it. I'm gonna scritchy it for ya.
Oh, that's the face when mom gets the good scritchies on the scritchies.
Look at her stretch her little legs out.
Oh, is that better?
See, just let me help. That's all you gotta do.
Home just in time. Yeah.
Oh, I gotta go outside. Yeah.
Hold on. You stay here.
I literally made it home just in time.
Jamie and I just sat down to eat.
There it is.
We knew it was coming.
They said 60 to 80 mile an hour wind.
Holy cow.
Look at the pool gates open.
Wow.
That's a little windy.
Oh, those poor trees.
They're surviving.
They're making it.
Well, I think the wind hit us.
I'm just saying.
I'm going back inside.
Holy cow Kira, what do you think?
Well, the backyard trees all look okay.
Did you peek out front yet?
My tomato plant broke.
Well, maybe it's not broke.
It's laying down.
It might be okay.
It's not going to focus on anything because there's so much water.
Anyway, my tomato plant tipped over.
Or the top of it tipped over.
But I don't think it's broken.
But so far the trees out front look okay too.
Huh.
You think we're going to get the hail?
Hail yeah.
We were just trying to finish our lunch.
Hey, I made it home before this hit.
That was my goal.
And look, now the wind's already dying down.
It's lightening over there.
Like lightening up.
These dogs are unfazed.
Unfazed.
Also, it's like 75 outside now.
Yeah.
It's definitely not 100 or whatever crazy temperature it was.
Yeah.
One first fun little storm.
We might get another one.
Seriously.
What?
Completely unfazed.
There's thunder.
Wind.
It's hot out.
And you're like, yeah, but Ma, the AC's on.
I got bellies up.
Can't you be any cuter right now?
You're adorable.
I'm not.
I won't bug you.
I might come scratch your belly.
Yeah, would you like that?
Would you like it if I scratched your belly?
You kind of look like you're waiting for it.
Yeah.
Oh, there's the face.
There it is.
Yeah.
You're such a good girl.
You are a good girl.
You're a good girl too.
Don't worry.
I will come over here and give you scratches too.
I know, Miss Jealousy.
You're like, how come you didn't pet me,
but you pet a dead dog?
Bless you, Kira.
I hear you over there sneezing.
Oh, geez.
Repositioned.
What's up?
It quit raining.
You can finally come outside.
The temperature dropped from like 89 or something crazy
all the way down to 72.
And now, it's rapidly creeping back up.
Supposedly,
going to hit 91.
So, yeah.
And I think the storms,
they're either done for the day.
Look at all the sticks that came down.
They're either done for the day
or we might get another one around 5 o'clock,
I think it said.
Oh, there's a big branch down
hanging in that tree there.
My mom called and my brother had just dropped
the kids off when that storm hit
and apparently right where his car was parked,
a great big branch came and landed
right where the car had been parked.
So, thankfully he wasn't there.
Yeah, we got some down sticks.
Not too many.
Nothing crazy.
Hi Kira!
I know it's not as hot out here,
but it's really sticky.
I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact
that everything is wet.
Are you licking the chair,
ma'am?
Are you having a good time?
She's like, I've learned how to use this camping chair
and I think I love it.
Look at her little feet.
She does not like it when her feet feel wet.
Silly girl!
Are we going stir crazy in here?
I'm pretty sure we just went stir crazy.
I'm gonna have to check the camera
to find out. Let's go see.
Did you tear the living room apart?
Alright, let's check the cameras.
Yeah!
What's going on in here?
They're like, oh my gosh,
we're so bored.
It's too hot to do anything outside.
We're so bored.
So you go crazy in here, huh?
Zoomy zoomies?
Kira, what happened?
You look like you were doing zoomies zoomies too.
Yeah, we was playing.
Listen, it's miserable out there.
Miserable.
Can't walk you.
You will overheat.
We even just talked about taking you around the block.
That's not happening.
Your dad and I are going to go for a bike ride real quick.
And then when we get back,
you're either going to get a frozen whoopsicle
or a bully stick.
How does that sound?
I know, I feel bad.
If it wasn't so hot,
we would even take you for an R.I.D.E.
It's just too hot for Huskies.
It's too hot for Huskies, you're not built for this.
You're not built for this.
Chill out.
I'll play you some music and you'll be fine.
I found beach glass down here before.
You have.
It's definitely been cleaned up.
Yeah.
Minus all the wood fiber
that's in our lake.
Yeah, mouth of the river.
Yep.
All the wood pieces.
What you see in the lake there that looks black and mucky.
It's actually wood fiber.
Some of it's like this.
Some of it's from this.
Some of it's from the old...
That's where we're going.
We're going to Abitibi.
That is a beautiful piece of driftwood.
You can write our name on that and hang it on the house.
That is a gorgeous piece of driftwood.
Wow.
That's all this is.
That's all fossils.
But I usually...
It does kind of look like a Bodor.
I sometimes walk down this way
and find beach glass
before other people do.
And since there was a storm...
Wow, look at that log.
Everyone loves a log.
I thought I'd come down here
and see if I can find anything real quick
while we're on our ride.
Is that a rock or beach glass?
That's a rock.
Oh, maybe?
No, that's also a rock.
No luck today.
Found a couple of shells.
Here's a couple more shells.
There's a shell.
No glass.
Somebody probably came down here before us.
Back to the scooters.
Hey look, there's our bikes.
Hey look, ice cream.
Because, you know, why not?
It's 80 million degrees outside.
You can tell by how much water is on the window.
Were you mad we left?
I thought it was interesting that you didn't howl at all
while we were gone.
You did not.
Let's ask her what the temperature is.
Okay, alright.
What's the temperature outside?
It says it's 82, feeling like 83,
but I guess we're going to go for a short walk.
Just a short one.
Wow, you're barking too.
Okay, Miss Stompy Stompies.
What?
Do that again.
Stompy Stompy Stompy.
Oh, okay.
Are you that excited?
Stomp Stomp Stomp Stomp.
Okay, we're going.
It is not fit for man nor beast out here.
We're not running.
It's too hot for running.
Oh my goodness.
We're doing a half...
We're doing a quarter of our normal walk actually.
So we're not doing the full two miles.
We're doing a quarter of that.
It's nine o'clock at night.
It's still 82 degrees.
A little too warm to be walking these doggos.
They don't seem to care at all though.
They're like, whatever.
99% humidity.
Yeah, I can tell. I'm all sweaty.
The air quality is good.
Yeah, well that's good.
I can't breathe cause it's so thick.
Yeah, we're not going far
cause you don't want to get
no heat issues.
Yeah, I know.
Oh my lord, Eleanor.
You're a riot.
That's the next round of storm clouds that's coming.
I don't want to walk too far
cause I know we'll get too far up here
and I won't be able to see it through the trees.
Maybe.
Jamie says, maybe we'll be able to.
Eleanor! You know, if you walked like a normal dog
instead of constantly trying to pull...
Oh wait, that is normal for you.
Yeah.
Alright, we might see more clouds
but we're turning before the very end of the road.
You can kind of see it peeking over the trees
a little bit back there.
That's the big clouds that are coming.
Ta-da!
Okay, we're turning right up here
and we're heading straight up
Bunny Alley and heading home.
It's too hot.
There you can see those big clouds.
They look like big pieces of cotton.
It is.
Well, they said 9 and it's 9
so...
We're at Bunny Alley
but I almost think it's too hot for bunnies.
Too hot for bunnies.
Not hot enough for bugs.
Too hot for bunnies.
No bunnies. You made it home.
They're all hunkering down.
We're going inside.
It is hot out.
It might be loud out here.
Oh, it is raining.
Yeah, it's raining. Let's go.
It just started raining.
Jamie and I just watched Hoppers.
So apparently the 9 o'clock rain that was coming through
didn't come through till almost midnight.
And as we were watching the movie, there was lightning
and stuff everywhere that we could see
through the front window.
And then thunder just rumbled the whole house.
So...
I guess it's storming again.
Uh-uh. You have to go do your thing
before you go back inside. Go. Do your thing.
Before you come back inside.
Yeah.
So I guess we're gonna go ahead and call it a night.
I was hoping it would thunder again
while I was standing out here.
But maybe it won't.
Alright. Another crazy storm.
We hope...
It's still hot out too, just so you know.
We hope you guys enjoyed today's video.
As always, thanks so much for watching.
Thanks for subscribing. Stay positive.
Dream big. And we will see you again
soon. Bye.
Ready to go back inside?
Come on. Don't step on that cricket.
There's a little cricket right there.
Hi, friend. Please stay there.
Maybe I'll have to go check out front real quick.
It's just dark out here.
Whoa!
That was ridiculous timing.
We're waiting.
And waiting.
Okay, so it's really far away.
I don't know if that's true or not, but...
Holy cow.
Wow.
That was wild.
Okay, if you stayed to the end of this video
and actually saw that, uh, type
What should we type?
I saw the lightning.
Jamie says you gotta type rumble in the comments.
So type rumble in the comments.
Good night, buddies.
