The United States warned Iran of the risk of new targeted strikes against political and military figures in the Islamic Republic, including Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei. This signal was relayed to Tehran through closed-circuit television channels following a visit by Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir, who presented the Islamic Republic with a package of new peace proposals. The threat of returning to targeted operations means that, should the war resume, Israel, with its vast experience in assassination, will join the American strikes. Munir was told that Tehran would not dispose of a single gram of its highly enriched uranium, and that any negotiations with Washington were possible only after the lifting of sanctions and the naval blockade. The US and Israeli militaries are currently intensifying preparations for a new round of conflict, practicing strike maneuvers, sources told The New York Times. According to them, by early November, the United States will be able to build up a significant strike potential in the Middle East. Work on a list of targets in Iran, according to sources told The New York Times, has already been completed. These targets will likely include the Islamic Republic's energy infrastructure, its nuclear facilities, as well as its weapons arsenal and missile and drone launch sites. As US officials summarize, the United States and Israel want to replicate the scale and intensity of the strikes, similar to the February and March attacks.
