Around 20 participants in a Communist Party rally held in the Russian Duma were detained in Moscow. Slogans were raised against political repression, the current government, and Vladimir Putin personally . A published video shows the participants chanting, "Down with the Tsar!" In addition to "Down with the Tsar," the marchers chanted "We want freedom," "Down with Roskomnadzor," "No to political repression," "Freedom for political prisoners," and "Down with the party of crooks and thieves." Before the march, those gathered also chanted "We will not forget, we will not forgive" and "Freedom for the people." Arrests began during the rally. According to SotaVision, five police vans and a patrol car were stationed near the square. Security forces then continued arresting people as the convoy moved forward.
In one video, about two dozen people are led to police vans amid cries of "Shame ." In another, the arrests take place amid chants of "Down with the Tsar." When a woman tries to intervene, the officers respond: "Get out of here!" About 20 participants were taken to the Krasnopresnensky District Police Department, SotaVision reported. According to the "Beware, Moscow" channel, the protest was approved by the authorities. The march commemorated the anniversary of the White House shelling in 1993. Participants gathered at Krasnopresnenskaya Zastava Square and then headed to the memorial to the fallen defenders of the building. Estimates ranged from several hundred to several thousand people to the event. Previously, mass arrests occurred outside the Supreme Court during the hearing of Yabloko's appeal against the removal of its party list from the State Duma elections. Security forces detained more than 70 people.
Recall, in Russia, just a couple of days after the "parliamentary elections," the fuel crisis intensified. Russians began talking about a "third wave." Experts' claims that the Kremlin artificially eased the fuel shortage during the "elections" by tapping reserves appear to have been true. As soon as the vote results were announced, gasoline disappeared from most gas stations. Russians are complaining online en masse that it's practically impossible to fill up. Fuel is only available at private gas stations, where the price is two or more times higher than at chain gas stations. Russians spend nights stuck in kilometers-long traffic jams trying to get gas. Many, after several hours of such delays, have to return home empty-handed because they've run out of gas.
Against this backdrop, resellers have stepped up their efforts to offer Russian citizens affordable gasoline without queues, but at exorbitant prices. The price of motor gas has also risen sharply in Russia. Just a couple of weeks ago, it cost 35 rubles per cubic meter; after the "elections," the price reached 60 rubles.
