The Russian army has a widespread practice of lying about the real situation on the battlefield in Ukraine. This lie is credulously conveyed by Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin, who puts himself in a foolish position. This was reported by well-known Russian Z-war correspondents Maxim Kalashnikov and Svyatoslav Golikov.

Golikov recalled how Putin publicly boasted about the Russian Armed Forces' offensive "in all areas" when, in the Gulyaipole region, the Ukrainian Armed Forces cornered the Russian group. "In the military, unfortunately, a widespread practice has developed of delivering reports to the higher-ups that will please them and not upset them. Accordingly, according to ingrained tradition, the highest-ranking official receives the same reports that please the state's leader... 'There's not a single area where we're not advancing! We're advancing every day, the enemy is only defending' —that's what Vladimir Vladimirovich said when our Vostok forces were in a pinch! Because the enemy was advancing north and northeast of Hulyaipole!" the Z-war correspondent recounted. Kalashnikov recalled Svyatogorsk and Kupyansk, which Russian dictator Vladimir Putin declared "taken." This information was quickly refuted. "Regarding Svyatogorsk. We were informed that it had been taken. And the commander of the 3rd Corps of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the notorious Mr. Biletsky, is recording a video from there... The city has not been taken! The leader is reproducing information that was apparently relayed to him by the generals. But it has not been taken! They (Ukrainian troops – ed.) cut off that salient near Liman, and are now clearing it out... They're making progress there. So, how should we feel about that? Svyatogorsk was a terrible blunder, just like Kupyansk, which has been taken I don't know how many times. When they reported the capture of Kupyansk, it was November 2025. I think they'd already given a hero's medal, but Kupyansk hasn't been taken. That turned out to be a lie! And now, 11 months later, the situation is repeating itself. No one will do anything about this system of embellishments," Kalashnikov exclaimed indignantly. Golikov noted that this lie undermines the image not only of Putin, but of all of Russia. "This has never happened before, but here it is again! Alas, the established practice is borrowing money, credit-based blackouts. In advance. Reports from the Chief of the General Staff to the top official's face! The top official then voices this and ends up in an awkward position! It somehow damages their image. The personal image of the top official is one thing, but the country's image, its reputation, is quite another. They're making absolutely flawed videos with neural networks. This is all refuted in a jiffy!" the Z-military correspondent noted.
