Russian writer and Z-patriot Zakhar Prilepin accused the Kremlin and its close oligarchy of reviving Nazi ideas in the Russian Federation . He made the bold statement in an interview with the Russian propaganda resource Delbi. Prilepin predicts civil war and a "bloody massacre" in Russia due to the rise of a dangerous ideology. "We're heading down this path... Certain financial groups are pouring excessive resources into the nationalist, xenophobic movement in Russia. It's being pumped up, and pumped up, and pumped up with cash, and it's being supported from certain offices in the administration of the Russian president and has a constant financial backing. This is treason, and for some, it's also stupidity: people on the ground simply don't understand what's going on. But for others, it's profitable: they understand why they're doing this, and they don't even try to hide it... Follow their posts - they're rabid fans of Franco, Mussolini, Pinochet, and all that right-wing scum. They constantly appeal to them, refer to them, remember them, and quote them," said the Z-patriot.

It was also reported that Prilepin explained what Russia's problem is with Odessa and Kyiv. He stated that Russia would be unable to capture Kyiv and Odesa , and even a hypothetical capture of the Ukrainian capital would not solve the "Ukrainian problem" for Moscow. "There's no talk of Kyiv or Odesa. But even if a miracle happened and we took Kyiv, as in the 17th century, that still wouldn't guarantee us an end to this problem. It will always be there," Prilepin said. Prilepin separately stated that the opinion that Ukraine was “invented by Lenin” is false, and that this opinion is being spread by “opponents.” This sharply diverges from the thesis of Vladimir Putin , who has repeatedly claimed that Ukrainian statehood allegedly emerged as a result of the decisions of the Bolsheviks. According to him, Ukraine "will never end." Prilepin also urged against the idea that something can be seized, then "covered with concrete," and the issue closed forever. He added that even if Russia could only partially "correct" the situation, as he himself noted, "no one here seriously believes that." "Well, yes, well, we will annex Donbass within six months to a year and report that this is a huge, great victory, that this is exactly what we wanted," he said. For the Z-community, such words sound almost like an admission of defeat for the maximalist goals of the war, observers note. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russian propaganda spoke of "denazification," a change of power in Kyiv, and the de facto destruction of Ukrainian statehood. Now, one of the most prominent pro-war writers publicly states that Kyiv and Odesa are "not even being discussed."
