On the morning of August 10, amid air raid sirens, local residents in Tatarstan, Russia, reported a series of explosions. Specifically, reports of these explosions came from Nizhnekamsk, media reports , citing Osinter and monitoring public groups. According to preliminary reports, eyewitnesses heard several explosions. Osinters clarifies that it is highly likely that the local oil refinery, one of the largest in Russia, was attacked. The attack is ongoing at the time of publication. Nizhnekamsk is one of the largest oil refining centers in the aggressor country. The city is home to the TANECO and TAIF-NK refineries, which process oil and gas condensate.
Both facilities are key elements of Russia's fuel and energy infrastructure and have previously been repeatedly targeted by Ukrainian UAVs.
Recall, on the night of Monday, August 10, Russian regions once again came under massive attack by Ukrainian drones. Regional Russian authorities reported drone strikes in several directions. According to Rostov Region Governor Yuri Slyusar, more than 70 drones were allegedly shot down over the region. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, meanwhile, reported that 13 more drones were destroyed on approach to the capital. In the Kaluga Region, authorities reported 16 UAVs shot down. Occupied Sevastopol reported the destruction of another 15 drones. Local authorities claim that debris from one of the drones caused a fire near Inzhir Beach. Evacuations have begun from a campsite located there. Russian official sources traditionally do not disclose information about possible incursions or the consequences of electronic warfare or air defense operations.
