My Dog JUMPED On The Swimming Pool Cover Full of WATER!

We started our morning with some beautiful yellow birds visiting our backyard bird feeder, but the real chaos began right before a massive Michigan severe thunderstorm rolled in! The weather went from a chilly 50 degrees yesterday to a muggy 83 degrees today, and our Siberian Huskies, Memphis, Kira, and Eleanor, decided that today was the perfect day to explore the rain-soaked pool cover. Memphis even decided to walk right out onto the water, giving us quite the scare before a major storm system arrived!
Jamie and I had to work fast to help Memphis off the pool cover, secure the backyard bird nest to keep the growing baby birds safe from impending 80 MPH winds, and get all the dogs inside before the skies turned absolutely gnarly. The storm hit fast with intense sheets of rain, heavy winds that knocked over our fencing, and severe weather sirens blaring through the neighborhood. Memphis was so sleepy she barely wanted to move, leaving me soaking wet in the yard trying to make sure she was safe!
Once the worst of the storm passed and the rain cleared out, the girls somehow convinced us to take them for a quick evening walk in between periods of the hockey game. We headed down what we now call "Bunny Alley" and spotted Peter Cottontail hanging out near the neighbor's property! Eleanor, Kira, and Memphis were completely locked in watching the backyard wildlife. It was a wild, wet, and beautiful day making memories here in Michigan!

🏒 Sneaking in a quick, wet walk during the hockey game intermission.
🐰 The girls spot a rabbit on our evening walk down Bunny Alley.
