I Couldn't Say No: Driving 5 Hours to Help This Rescue Husky
Join Snow Dogs Vlogs for a very special and important vlog. Today, we're taking you on the road for an urgent dog rescue transport. This is a look into the critical work that goes on behind the scenes to save dogs in desperate situations.
The day started with a mission: to help transport Halo, a beautiful 3-4 year old woolly Siberian Husky who, along with 18 other dogs, tragically lost her owner. In these heartbreaking situations, time is critical, and a network of amazing people and rescues, including our friends at Pause to Journey, jumped into action to get these dogs to safety. Our part of this mission was a 5-hour round trip to transport Halo from one safe point to the next, getting her one step closer to her foster home with Pineapples Paradise Rescue.
This vlog documents our journey with the sweet but nervous Halo, from the moment we met her to the successful handoff with the next transporter. It’s an emotional look at the reality of dog rescue and the incredible people who make it all possible.
After the transport, we returned home to our own pack, who could definitely smell that we had been with another dog! The rest of our day was spent decompressing with some much-needed outdoor fun. With the Michigan heatwave finally breaking, we played with reusable water balloons and a new Super Soaker, and the dogs enjoyed some well-deserved bully sticks before a summer rainstorm rolled in.
This was a day of purpose and a reminder of why we do what we do. As we always say, Life is short, Make memories with your dogs! ❤️
