This is my new favorite way to eat oranges, in addition to being a refreshing and disturbing dessert.
Here is my orange salad with orange blossom.
It all starts with three oranges for dessert, even though I actually used four.
When you cut oranges, the juice and oil from the skin splashes everywhere,
so rather than having a sticky table, I prefer to protect it with a towel.
Then I cut my oranges.
I find it really much more practical to peel them by cutting the skins rather than doing it by hand.
I will use the pulp that I remove at the end of the recipe.
Once the skin has been removed, I cut my orange into fairly thin slices.
Then I place the slices on a lightly hollowed plate.
And I continue with my other oranges.
I cut the fruit into fairly thin slices, but it is especially for the presentation.
You can also simply cut them into small pieces and put them in a bowl.
I will tell you more about the manuscript recipe to be found on my blog, the link is just below the video.
But I discovered the orange salad with orange blossom water in a Lebanese cuisine restaurant a few years ago.
I really loved it and wanted to recreate it at home.
And since then, I can't get enough of it.
Once everything is cut, I take a small bowl.
And I finally use the pulp that remains on all my orange peel.
I squeeze all the juice into the small bowl.
If you don't have any pulp left, you can use orange juice or skip this step.
I add a teaspoon of sugar for the syrup side.
And I mix well so that the sugar melts.
You can also use liquid sugar.
A nice pinch of cinnamon is optional.
And finally, a generous tablespoon of orange blossom water.
Once well mixed, all that remains is to pour this syrup over the oranges,
making sure to enjoy each slice.
Once the syrup is added, I will get some fresh mint leaves in my gardener.
And I add them to my salad, it really adds a very fresh touch.
And the best thing is to let this salad rest a little in the fridge before serving it.
Here is finally my orange salad, ready to be tasted.
In general, I'm not a fan of fruit salads that are a bit boring.
So I don't know if this recipe will be as successful as it deserves.
But I think this orange salad is really extraordinary.
The mix of flavors makes it a super tasty and really perfect dessert when it's hot or when you want a light dessert.
