All right, Marisha, let's get a look at the forecast here.
9.34, but for folks tomorrow,
what is that looking like also heading into the weekend?
Well,
We've had some pretty close to perfect days as far as weather
is concerned and it looks like things will change maybe for the better,
maybe for the worst. Depends on what you like.
So we do have some rain heading our way.
You may not want a ton of rain for the weekend,
but look at our drought monitor. We need a little bit of rain.
You can see the drought conditions are getting worse.
Extreme drought right now for Angleton, Lake Jackson,
moderate drought for Houston and many spots in severe drought.
So we need a little bit of rain.
Rain, little rain. We're going to get a slim shot for it late tonight,
early tomorrow with the weak front.
Much better chance for showers coming as we go
into Saturday night just west of Houston, west of 45.
But everyone could get in on some hit or miss showers for Sunday
and that is when the temperatures will take a pretty major dip as well.
The first system is fairly weak
and it is in between Austin and Houston now.
It's this weak front moving in.
I was showing you some of the rain associated with this earlier.
At this point, it's down around Corpus Christi,
other parts of South Texas.
I don't expect a ton of this rain to make it up to us.
We don't have a lot of moisture in place,
and we're not going to have that much time
to have a lot of moisture from the Gulf
returning ahead of this front.
So our Fox Weather model painting,
a few light rain showers in our area by 9 a.m. tomorrow,
but the majority of that rain hanging out to our south,
down around Corpus Christi,
maybe getting into Victoria, Port Lavaca, and...
Just out over the Gulf, but not really reaching us too much.
Now, let's talk about the stronger system.
That is the one that's going to impact your second half of the weekend.
Most of Saturday looks great.
A few clouds will be building in.
Notice 3 p.m. the rain still to our west,
but it is a lot of rain back to our west Saturday afternoon
for places like Kerrville, San Antonio, San Marcos,
getting into Austin, San Angelo,
and all of that moisture will start to push in Saturday night.
So by Saturday night, you can see some downpours around the woodlands,
College Station, and there will be a decent chance
for more of this rain rolling into other spots for Sunday.
Monday, I stopped the clock here.
We'll hear around 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon
and you'll see very heavy rain, maybe even some storms from El Campo
to Bay City and even Sugar Land, Katy, Sealy getting in on some rain
and that likely is pushing over Houston as well.
So if you got some stuff to get done outside,
you definitely want to try to do it on Saturday as opposed to Sunday
because you may run into some issues with the weather on Sunday.
By Sunday evening, a lot of that rain is starting to depart,
but there will still be at least a low chance
for rain sticking around through Monday.
But Sunday is the day where you'll have the
Biggest impacts from weather here in Houston this weekend
with that 60% shot for heavy rain and maybe even a few storms.
Now, as far as totals, I don't think there's going
to be a lot of rain here.
There could be an isolated spot that picks up over an inch of rain,
maybe one to two inches of rain, but this model is not that optimistic,
showing less than an inch of rain for our area, but two,
three, maybe four inches of rain down around South Texas
from Brownsville to Corpus Christi.
So if you're traveling there this weekend, that's where you're going
to run into some major delays potentially from the flooding issues.
So for us, the next three days, we're looking pretty good.
We're staying around 80 degrees for tomorrow afternoon
with maybe a brief shower early. We'll
We'll start to dry things out, maybe more sunshine by the afternoon
as those clouds break up behind that front, but it's not going to last.
Clouds build in for Saturday, showers return Saturday night,
and did you see that high temperature of 65 degrees for Sunday?
That is chilly for Houston, and look,
it gets even colder for Monday morning.
40s likely for Houston, Tomball, and the Woodlands and Huntsville,
so plan on an extra layer for that chill.
Guess what? The Texans are back in action Sunday in California.
California at SoFi Stadium playing the Chargers and it's going
to be a good 20 degrees warmer for that kickoff. Temps in the 80s,
lots of sunshine, but we are cool and wet here Sunday.
60% rain chance, high of 65 and we're starting off in the 40s on Monday
and likely more 40s Tuesday morning as well.
