Woodlands High School on lockdown | SkyFOX

Told you about a little bit earlier. This is a Sky Fox shot from the Woodlands over the Woodlands High School that has been on lockdown for at least an hour or so. So what we're learning is that a student made a threat on social media a couple of days ago, posted a video, a picture of him in a mask saying this school is done for. That student apparently went to school today and at some point throughout the day ran out of the classroom and was arrested outside. So he must have been reported to authorities because authorities were there on the scene to arrest him. And we did get a couple of statements today. One came in from Conroe ISD saying the Woodlands High School received a potential threat by phone earlier this afternoon. Out of abundance of cautious of caution, the campus administrator put the school on lockdown. Currently, the Montgomery County authorities are checking the building and actively investigating the threat. We are receiving... Many images and videos from inside the school that is currently showing officers still canvassing the school, still going in with guns drawn, trying to make sure that the threat has been taken care of. And we do have, I'm sorry, Producer Mark, did you say we had video? We do have new video. Let me go ahead and pull that in so you're able to see what we're seeing and we appreciate your patience. This is live and happening right now. Let me go ahead and get that video for you. Just one second. All right, Mark, is it in? All right. So while we wait on that video. Okay, let's go to it right now. We do have it. Here you go. I want you to see this video that we have this. These are some of the videos that have been coming in. You can see the authorities there with guns drawn behind the vehicles. This is On campus at the Woodlands High School, this was all in the last hour, hour and a half. So this is what we've been getting in. The parents and the families of the students there also received an email telling everybody what was going on. They were asking the families to not come to the campus as they investigated. And they continued to focus on the situation. We also got some information because we did see videos of parents already there. And, you know, parents get scared. You want to go see about your child. We want to make sure everything's okay, but they are asking at the Woodlands High School, kids are going to be bused to Bear Branch Park and their parents are being told you can pick them up there. They are still on lockdown, but at some point the students will be bused to Bear Branch Park where parents will pick them up. In that area, but some of the video that we're seeing, we have not been able to load in yet, but you can see some scared students with their hands up just as authorities are coming in trying to make sure that there's no other threat. They did arrest the student that had ran out of the school, the one that had made the threat. He was in full mask. And posted on social media, the school is done for with a gun emoji, three little skeleton emojis. So that is the student we believe has been arrested. Of course, they wanted to make sure there were no other threats. So we're still receiving videos, and I'm looking at them now. We're going to try and post them here in just a few minutes. But they're sending in this video of. The authorities going into the classroom with their guns drawn. These students had to have been scared. And there also was a message sent from a nearby Lone Star College that said the Woodlands is on lockdown. Go to the nearest room and lock the door and stay quiet. This is not a drill. So, you know, this is what they. Do these drills for to make sure that unfortunately, if that time comes, the students know what to do, the staff knows what to do, and it'll minimize any threat, any harm that can come to anybody there. So unfortunately, they're experiencing that right now. I do want to show you once again, this is outside of the Woodlands High School in the Woodlands area. This is a Sky Fox live shot right now. The lockdown is still happening right now. So no one is coming in. No one is going out. And as I mentioned, the Woodlands High School students are going to be bused, and I'm not sure how they're going to do the busing. We actually have a reporter that's heading that way to get the latest, and we're waiting on a presser as well. All right, so. We have another shot that we want to show you right now. Let's go ahead and take that. And we're seeing some students there kind of gathered outside of a tree, underneath a tree. Oh, those are parents, actually. Concerned parents, worried parents trying to figure out exactly what's going on. You can see them on their phone, obviously trying to get the latest information there as they're waiting to see or hear anything about their students, about everyone being safe. So they are not allowed to pick up the kids just yet. The authorities apparently, I think, are still inside of the school. They're definitely on campus, and we're seeing so many videos. So, you know, the kids have their phones, and they're posting these videos, and they're sending them to their parents. Some of their parents are sending them to us. They just want to make sure everyone is aware of what's happening. But this is right outside the Woodlands High School. There you can see how many sheriff officers and authorities are on the scene, law enforcement there. And this has got to be a very they've got to be full of anxiety here. These parents just a really sensitive moment for them. You can see them on their phones just trying to figure out trying to get word of when or where they can pick the students up. I mean, there's. Thousands of kids at a high school. So I'm really not sure how they're going to be doing the busing. But we are hearing they're possibly going to bus these students to Bear Branch Park. And their parents are being told to pick them up there. So these are worried parents trying to hear from their student, from their kids, on exactly what happened. This is a live shot right here, a Sky Fox shot of the scene. So we're seeing the parents. We're seeing the sheriff's office. All the authorities there on the scene to make sure this threat is over. If you are just joining us, the Woodlands High School is on lockdown at this time after a social media threat that happened a few days ago. The student posted a video, a picture. OK, and so now I'm hearing from producer Mark that that image of the student. Posting a threat may not be associated with this situation that's happening right now with this lockdown. So we are kind of unfolding things. We're trying to figure everything out and we wanted to make sure we bring you all of the most accurate and detailed information. So thank you so much for being patient with us as we are starting to try to figure everything out along with everyone else. But we are on the scene here. This is another shot here from the ground at the Woodlands High School on lockdown over. Over a potential threat, but I can't even imagine what the students are going through. We've seen some video of them with their hands up, you know, their authorities coming inside. So they're trying to make sure that the threat is over, but we have not heard officially that it is, but we did hear from... The statement that was released from Conroe ISD about a potential threat. So everyone's just kind of on standby right now, trying to figure out what's going on. No students coming out, no one coming out, and no one going in. And we saw the parents there a little bit earlier waiting to see what's happening. So as soon as things become available, we are going to show that to you. I'll show you another shot here. And this is earlier that we saw. And these are some of the videos that are being sent in right now where the authorities and law enforcement were outside. You can see the guns drawn there. This is another video. And these are pretty quick, but you can see them right there going through the classrooms and those students. I mean, they want to put their hands up, but they want to record. So they're trying to make sure everyone is safe. But these are really quick clips. And probably because they couldn't have their phones up for too long, they wanted to make sure their hands are clear and free of any threat to make sure there are no additional threats. It looks like they are canvassing the campus one room at a time, which is what they do in a lockdown. This is what the. Students prepare for, unfortunately, if they have to have a situation like this, they are told what to do, how to follow directions, how to maybe, you know, lessen the threat by making sure everyone stays safe. So these are some of the videos that were sent in earlier. We are still getting a lot more videos. I'll take you back now to the ground shot there that we are seeing the sheriff's office, I believe, and other law enforcement officials They're on the scene. But if you are a parent, we want you to check your email, check your messages, just to make sure you haven't received any. We haven't got an official word that the kids or students are being allowed to be picked up at Bear Branch. That is something we learned from one of the students that was inside, that that's what they're hearing. So we will be able to hopefully confirm that coming up for you in just a little bit. We're going to take a quick break right now and come right back with more Houston Live and Local.
