Woodlands High School on lockdown over potential threat

Welcome back to Houston Live and Local. We're going to talk a little bit more about the breaking news we brought you a little bit earlier. The Woodlands High School is on lockdown at this time. Here's what we know. They received an email. This is the Conroe Independent School District released a statement. The Woodlands High School received a potential threat by phone earlier this afternoon and out of abundance of cautious. Caution. The campus administration put the school on lockdown. Currently, Montgomery County authorities are checking the building and actively investigating the threat. You can see right there some guns drawn on the outside. What we're hearing is that a student made a threat days ago on social media, threatening the school, put a little gun emoji and some skeleton emoji saying the school was done for. And that student went to school today, ran out of the classroom and was apprehended. And arrested outside of the school. If you are a parent of a family, you may have already received the text message or the email that says, dear family, families and guardians, the Woodlands High School is currently in a lockdown as safety precautions due to the campus was made by phone. So this is pretty much the same information. They also asked that families please do not come to the campus at this time. And this will allow school administration and Conroe ISD police to focus on the situation. As we receive more information, we will provide updates as more information. Becomes available. So these are some of the video and images that we're getting of what happened not too long ago. We did have some people sending in video as things were unfolding. We also saw a long line of parents. If you can imagine, you get an email like that. And I know they say don't come to the school. But as a parent, you go to the school for whatever reason. You know, you don't blame the parents. They just want to be as close to the people as possible, as close to their child as possible. So that is kind of. of what the case is right now. We do have a reporter that is headed to the Woodlands now to get some more information. So we have not heard that they are not on lockdown. They are still on lockdown. There was also a A message sent out from Lone Star College that was related to this saying the Woodlands lockdown now go to the nearest room, lock the door and stay quiet. This is not a drill. This was from Lone Star College Police Department that also was trying to make others aware in the area. So everyone is on the same page and could be, you know. Could know exactly what's going on, but this is all of the images that we're seeing right now. You see all the officers there outside of the school. If you are a parent. They are asking that you are patient until they make sure the school is safe and everyone is ready. And a lot of parents probably want to take their kids home. They're probably not there just to check on them. They probably want to take them home. If you didn't receive the message, this is one of the reasons you definitely need to sign up. I know some things you don't want to hear about, but these are the things that you sign up for to make sure you are on the same page With your campus, with your ISD, so this is what is happening right now. the Woodlands at Woodlands High School. And we've been seeing a little bit of video of guns being drawn on the outside. But we do understand that the student that made the threat on social media a few days ago, once again, he was in a ski mask and said the school is done for. That student ran out, was apprehended and arrested. We are going to confirm and we're hoping to get a presser here coming up in just a little bit. We will keep you posted with that.
