Let's get a look now at the forecast. The time is 521.
It is a Thursday, a beautiful Thursday at that.
But will we will we be seeing any changes in the forecast?
Let's check in with meteorologist Amisha Shade.
Well, the weekend is in view, Anthony.
And yes, we will have some changes to the weather,
but it's not going to be craziness all weekend long.
But I'm getting excited about weekend time and maybe weekend plans.
And hopefully you are, too. It looks like the temperatures
are going to be on a roller coaster ride for this weekend.
And there will be a few chances for
rain. You can see around Corpus Christi,
those showers slowly pushing north and east.
Eventually one or two of those may get here late tonight,
early tomorrow. It's associated with a weak front that's going
to be rolling in very limited rain with this front.
So certainly don't even think about canceling any plans.
It's not going to do much.
The stronger system that could bring more downpours
and maybe some lightning and thunder
will be Saturday night and through the day on Sunday.
After that system pushes in, it's going to be turning a lot cooler.
You may be breaking out the heavier jackets and the boots,
especially for the second half of the weekend.
Right now, absolutely gorgeous out there.
Lots of sun today, of course.
We are getting close to sunset time because we,
of course, are now after daylight saving time
and it gets dark pretty early, around 530.
78 degrees at this point, dew points around 60
and wind coming in out of the east southeast at 10 miles per hour.
So it was really hard to find something to complain about today.
Weather wise, beautiful weather, pleasant temperatures. But here
is that next system already starting to creep into Austin, San Antonio.
And you can see those showers starting to pop up around South Texas.
So when is it going to reach us?
I think it's the overnight hours into early tomorrow.
So here's the rain. Notice that the rain tries
to push closer to Houston overnight through Friday morning.
But it doesn't really make it very far.
So I think if you're down around Lake Jackson,
Galveston, you may get in on a shower or two tonight.
But Houston, rain is going to be hard to come by.
Only about a 5% to 10% chance.
Now let's jump ahead to Saturday afternoon.
And there's a big blob of rain showing up around 3
p.m. Saturday afternoon across the Hill Country.
Back towards Midland, San Angelo.
You can see Austin, Kerrville,
San Antonio getting some pretty hefty downpours.
This is the stronger system that is going to push in Saturday night.
Notice, best chance, even Saturday night, is still west of Houston,
west of 45, places like Columbus, Brenham, Navasota, College Station,
but that rain will start to impact more of our area during
the day on Sunday, so that is when I think you'll have some
of the biggest impacts from rain.
At this point, it is going to be about a 60% chance for some showers
and maybe a few rumbles of thunder.
So you can see Sunday, that rain chance jumps up to 60%.
30% for Saturday, 30% early Monday.
So it's not a washout of a weekend,
but Sunday looks a little soggier than Saturday.
And Sunday also looks a lot cooler. You'll see that in just a minute.
Kiddos at the bus stop tomorrow, trying to wrap up the school week.
Only a 10% chance for a shower getting on the bus,
should be dry, getting dropped off during the afternoon.
A warm one again for tomorrow.
Temperatures near 80, 76 on Saturday with rain moving in late.
Sunday, on again, off again, showers.
But the big deal Sunday will be the temperatures.
Normally, our average high this time of the year, around 76 degrees.
And we're only at 65 for the hottest part of the day on Sunday.
And then we drop all the way down to the 40s as many
of you are heading back to work and school Monday morning.
So that's a real chill.
Make sure you've got an extra layer prepared
for the start of the work and school week.
We will gradually, though, start to hear
to heat those temps back up by the end of next week.
