All right, let's head to the East Camp Verde.
That area creeks and river swollen there
and evacuation orders in place there as well tonight.
Let's go to Andrew Christensen standing by live tonight.
Hi, Andrew. Hey, Brian, it has been raining very consistently today.
So I want to give you a picture as to how much
of a difference the river is today compared to other days.
So part of a bench is submerged in water.
There's also this sign right over here that is submerged in water.
And I want to show you where the river is now.
So this is where the river is now. But
People who live here in Camp Verde tell me
that usually the river is at those bushes
right over there, so about a 50-foot difference today.
The water here is pretty calm,
but I went out to a neighborhood pretty close by.
Their backyard overlooks where the Verde River
and Beaver Creek meet, and it looks just like
a flowing river.
They also have horses over there,
and since they're in the go status to evacuate, they're
considering leaving, but a lot of people
are still considering it and haven't left yet.
It stinks because I don't know what I don't have a horse trailer.
So I'm trying to figure out how to get my horses
and my tortoises and chickens out of there.
So that's why we're making calls right now and see if there's
a couple of rescue places that my wife is calling just
and they said that they would be able to come and help us.
And there is a temporary shelter
at the Camp Verde Parks and Recreation Gym.
I did head over there.
There was about five people there when it did open up a few hours ago.
We also have some updates from the marshal's office
on our website, fox10phoenix.com.
