Wichita couple starts Americana Mahj to make mahjong games

People often ask what crafted in America actually means. Well, here's the story. I haven't talked much about this yet because I wanted to make sure the process was truly ready before I shared it. Americana Maj is bringing the etching, printing, and finishing of our tiles into our own workshop here in Wichita. We begin with premium multi-layer cast acrylic blanks made for us overseas. From there, I laser etch every original design into the face of the tile, UV print the color, gloss the tile, hand clean and inspect all 160 tiles, and then sort and pack each finished set here. Why take on that much of the process ourselves? Because it gives us more control over the quality, the color, and the smallest details. It gives us more freedom to create, and it keeps me closely connected to every piece that carries the Americana Maj name. That's what Crafted in America means to us.
