Chicago Bears Trade Rumors: Khalil Mack Reunion a Focus Per Ian Rapoport
Nov 1, 2026
Breeze Nation, what is good? Wanted to drop
a quick update video in between running around
with the kiddos and getting ready for a bunch
of stuff for today, going to be doing an all-day
stream so make sure that you tap in with us
but a little bit of news for me and Rapoport
before today gets started
because it seems like the Chicago Bears are actually in heavily
on upgrading that edge position and
Khalil Mack is a name that was mentioned.
We'll talk about that and more on today's episode
of the Windy City Breeze Sports Talk Daily.
Let's go.

So make sure that you stay in.
Tune with us, man.
All right, let's get this started here.
Pretty much a very quick addition
to what Ian Rapoport was talking about
with the Chicago Bears making a move
and the Seattle Seahawks making a move.
He was previewing this upcoming game
versus Seattle on Monday night,
and he kind of dropped in there
that the Bears are still placing calls around the NFL
and are heavily looking to upgrade their edge pressure.
For me, right, with Jeffrey Simmons,
I feel confident going through the rest of this season
with a guy like Montez Sweat.
Again, you heard Jeffrey Simmons, right?
Day one, go, I know how to talk to Tez.
I know when I'm going to get the most out of him, right?
Like that was the first thing
that had been talked about there
for the Chicago Bears team.
And so you hope that Montez Sweat
is going to be able to give you the most,
but that does not mean that the Chicago Bears.
are shying away from trying to continue to improve this defensive line.
And I love that because, listen, I like Montez.
I like Austin, especially with Jeffrey Simmons in there.
But if you have an opportunity to get better
and you feel like if you're Ryan Poles,
you can make this cap space work for this season
and continue to make it work moving forward.
Why wouldn't you want to go out there and get the best available?
But this is a clear signal.
If the Chicago Bears are still looking
to upgrade that edge position, even though
The Chargers at every turn have turned teams away,
but it tells you that, listen, the Bears
do believe that they are a Super Bowl caliber team.
They believe that Caleb Williams, things
have clicked for him in the right way.
They believe that Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams
together can lead a team to the Super Bowl.
And so you're trying to upgrade where you
felt your team was the weakest going into this season.
And you've been able to do so
in a major way. When you think about everything that Ben,
I'm sorry that Ryan Poles has done
For this defense here. Yeah.
We've all been clowning on the thought process of, Hey,
you know, you're going to go into the season
with stronger DBs than your defensive line.
And that's insane, right? Like it's something
that you always felt was not going to work.
And we saw that somewhat play out early on in the season,
but now that they are investing,
now that they are looking to go big on this defensive line,
if you told me that you could
have Jeffrey Simmons, Montez Sweat
and Khalil Mack all on the defensive line.
At once, what you're talking about and see, this is the thing, right?
Everybody's looking for the sack numbers.
We need to sack the quarterback more.
We need to get to the quarterback more often.
No, what you're talking about in my mind now
is a quarterback that cannot, cannot survive
pressure from any.
Point. And that's the part that does get me excited about.
If the Bears were to go out and
add a Khalil Mack to this, let me know how you guys feel down
in the comments below. I will be down
there talking with you guys as well.
As always, today's episode brought to you by CowShe,
if you trade $25, you can get $25 added
to your account instantly using that promo code breeze.
Make sure to tap in with everything that Cow
She has going on right now. Cause if you look at
This upcoming game versus the Chicago Bears.
You would have thought.
Right. You would have thought that the,
or I should say for the Chicago Bears,
the Seahawks game, you would have thought
that the Chicago Bears would have taken a
massive jump after an addition of Jeffrey Simmons,
but no, they still respect.
This, this Seattle Seahawks team massively here right now,
if you play $25 for the Chicago
Bears to win this game,
because they're trading at a market of a 39% chance to win this game,
you could win $61. If you were to add that extra 25 that you get,
once you make a trade using that
promo code breeze, you put $50 on that.
You can get $122 back in 94 cents. If the Chicago Bears
Bears were to win this game coming up versus the Seattle Seahawks.
So if you believe that Seattle is going down to the Bears
on Monday night, as many a Bears fan does believe at this point,
let me know, especially if you use that promo code breeze,
because that could pay you out 122 bucks to make sure
to tap in with everything the couch he has going on.
We appreciate them being a sponsor of today's episode,
but think about how that market would jump.
Realistically, if Khalil Mack were added to this team.
Now, all of a sudden, you're talking about a defense who,
for me, with Montez Sweat, the biggest thing,
the biggest question, the biggest.
conversation that will continue to come up is,
right, can he be the one?
He doesn't have to be the one anymore.
Now, can he be an elite too?
Yes.
That's a real conversation that I think that you can have.
And if you have your third pass rusher being Khalil Mack,
who has been a beautiful pressure
getter this year, who has been somebody
who has been more around the quarterback than
has been able to actually sack the quarterback.
And maybe that goes into some of the ups
and downs that that defensive line has, but you're
not asking Khalil Mack to come back here.
If you were to trade for him and be Khalil Mack,
you're asking him to come back here
and be the best version of him that he is right now.
He is no longer the Khalil Mack of 2018.
That guy, it's not to say that he isn't still immensely talented,
but that's a player who's kind of been long gone.
You've seen the ups and downs in his time in L.A.,
but the guy who it was every single play you had to game plan for,
he hasn't been that guy for a couple of seasons, and that's okay.
Because the guy he is right now is still
a contributor to a championship caliber offense.
And the fact that the Chicago Bears see that, and you might look to
upgrade that third pass rusher position by adding Khalil Mack to that.
Oh, by the way, you're still rotating in Austin Booker.
You're still rotating in Daniel Hardy.
Now you're talking about that defense very similar
to what Seattle was able to come at you with,
where you've got those waves of defensive linemen
that allow you to keep this defense.
Fresh, I think that this is a great move
when you talk about the possibility
of eventually Dayo Odebo coming back in
and being someone who can contribute
in that middle as well.
He's really stepped up in that position.
I think that this Bears defensive line
Post-trade deadline has a real opportunity
if the Bears are able to pull off a trade
for Khalil Mack to go from one of the worst
at getting pressure in the NFL to one of the top
teams for the rest of this season
and hopefully for the foreseeable future as you're able to
replace some of those names.
If you were to bring in a guy like Khalil Mack, again, that's only
pretty much a one-year deal for the rest
of this year. And then, you know,
the Montez Sweat conversation,
I think that he is playing for his contract right now.
coming into next season. I truly do.
I think that he's playing for his, his contract life is
his bare career right now.
Not to say he won't still have, you know, other teams that will want
him, but like, you're going to have to pay Caleb Williams.
That means you're going to have to clear
money. Is that going to be Jalen Johnson?
Is that going to be Montez Sweat? Is that going to be
Grady Jarrett right there?
There are guys that I believe trading for Jeffrey Simmons put on
noticing, you know what?
They were the two guys that I said, the two guys that, that immediately
He were talked about in Jeffrey Simmons opening press conference,
Montez Sweat and, and Grady
Jarrett both said, Jeffrey Simmons said,
if you can't get a sack and they're doubling
me, something's wrong.
And so I just love that level of leadership already being in
the fold for the Chicago Bears team.
And hopefully this is something that the Bears will be able
to build off of for years to come here.
But let me know how you guys feel about the news
that the Bears are heavily
Interested in upgrading that defensive end position.
And Khalil Mack is a name that is
still very much on the board.
We'll talk about all that as we go live throughout the day,
make sure that you're tapped in with us.
Make sure you have that notification bell
when the 12 o'clock games, as you can see,
I got my alarm set already as the 12 o'clock games kick

And then if I'm not too exhausted for the late night game,
so stay tapped in with us,
man.

the designer back at it again.
