And a big shout-out to Kalshi for being a sponsor of today's episode
where you can trade $25 and get $25 added to your account instantly
using the promo code BREEZE.
Again, trade $25.
You can get $25 using the promo code BREEZE.
And if you go to Kalshi right now,
I believe the Chicago Bears are trading at a 36% clip right now.
That means that $25 could go a long way.
And once you make that first trade, you get that $25 added instantly.
I'd put another $25 on that
Because I think that this could be a very, very good.
Good day for the Chicago Bears here.
I think that this is going to be one,
especially with some of the updates that we have today as well,
that you're going to feel a lot better about
this Bears team heading into
that game.
Even the,
I mean,
listen,
I feel great about the team heading
into that game because it feels like
you're going to be in that game.
But number one thing here,
Kobe Bryant,
we finally got an update on Kobe Bryant.
Ben Johnson was asked about it today.
At the podium, and he said,
from what I understand, he is right on track.
Over the next month, that'll go a long way
to see whether we can get him back this year.
And look like hearing that Kobe Bryant is right on track,
seeing some of the vague tweets that we have seen about him as well.
It feels like that is something that the Bears are going to be,
is going to be very helpful to this Bears team
as you get near that playoff time.
And realistically, the hope is that, you know, the conversation
was late December, maybe just right before the playoffs there.
But if you can get him back early at all,
even with him being on schedule, if you can get him back early at all,
From this injury, I think that that is somebody who helps you
tremendously as you go into your final three divisional games.
Remember, you've got the Lions, you've
got the Packers, you've got the Vikings.
finish out your season.
That's going to be a tough stretch for this team overall. It's
going to be verse teams that have all seen you,
but the big difference is you're going
to be at home. So I think even if you can find
a way to get him to return within that
timeframe, that is when you could talk about
this team becoming very, very dangerous and
being able to take that next step,
get to that next level. And maybe there's even a
few new pieces on this defense and a few pieces may be gone.
From this defense, as we get past this trade deadline.
But the one thing that I love about
this is you're hearing, you know,
hearing from Ben Johnson that Kobe Bryant is right
on track to return here. It feels like there is still some hope.
That he could return this season,
because that is the one thing that you didn't know.
Was this going to be a lost year of that contract due to injury,
or were you going to see any
value from him this upcoming season?
I think that if you can get him back
on the field next to hopefully a much more developed
Dylan Thiemann by then,
you're going to see a back end tandem that all of a sudden
you can't take chances on it.
What you return with getting Kobe Bryant back in that fold is a guy
who now we don't know
what he's going to be able to do,
how quickly he's going to be able to work himself back
How quickly he's going to be able to get back in playing shape.
So I do take all of that into account here.
But if his return is true,
you're getting a championship caliber player back.
Not championship caliber.
I take that back.
A championship winning player back into the fold
because you're getting back a guy who
to me has one of the greatest Super Bowl
interceptions that I have ever seen.
You're getting back a guy
who has the natural instincts as we talked about those DB instincts.
He flies around the football field.
I think when you add that in to Dylan Thiemann.
And both of those guys can feed off of each other.
There's even probably going to be a lot of conversation on,
even though Kobe Bryant is back, right?
Dylan Thiemann has been in this defense all year.
What's he looking like at this point?
Is he the one that's going to be taking
the lead for the Chicago Bears and all
of this to me, I think that is where you start to say, Oh snap.
So Kobe can come back and possibly be the number two guy,
but the number two guy might end up being
the Super Bowl caliber player,
the Super Bowl championship winning player that came over from
Seattle, that is something that you could talk about
in this Bears organization as
a game changing piece,
almost like getting Kyler Gordon back on the field for this defense
has done as well.
It just puts you over the top
and it makes this team that much more dangerous in a playoff
run.
Let me know how you guys feel down
in the comments below your thoughts on the return
of Kobe Bryant or the hopeful return
of Kobe Bryant with him being here on schedule.
Are you excited that you're going to get him back this season?
Is there still a lot of concern for you
that even if we get him back this season,
which version of Kobe Bryant is he going to be?
Both are both are valid concerns. You know what
I mean? I'm not going to sit here
and say that one opinion is wrong over the other. I think that both
deserve a seat at the table in this conversation.
The other thing that we got as an update today
per Jeremy Fowler says there's a lot of optimism
around the Chicago Bears that Kyle Monungaicould return
this upcoming Monday night.
Let me know your thoughts on that in the comments below.
How do you think that this changes this run game for me?
And this is just me looking at what we've seen over
the last couple of weeks. Hasn't DeAndre
Swift's usage felt a little bit weird in some of those games, right?
The second half of the Atlanta
game, I guess you could say, right?
Well, he's trying to save them for the entire Patriots game.
It's game. Why are we saving?
DeAndre Swift in some of these moments, I get it.
He's been banged up. Right. But like
the uses of DeAndre Swift has felt very, very strange to me.
And I think it's because you
haven't had the guy that can offset what Swift does very well.
Swift, of course, a great change
of direction back a great change of speed back.
I think that he's got one of the best cutbacks
in football when you use him within that passing game.
But when you need that power,
when you need that run, when you need that goal line stick,
when you need one yard, DeAndre Swift.
Has proven at least this season to this point that he's not that guy.
That's going to be able to just power his way through.
You have seen the bears go with a lot
of different things in fourth and one
situations here that haven't just
been turned around and hand the football to
swift.
They have had those moments usually
within some jumbo packages or some power
runs.
But I mean like for the most part,
you have seen those runs be attempted to go to guys like Roschon Johnson
throughout these last three weeks here,
or even seen like,
you know,
tight ends get involved in different things like that.
To me, I think what we're, what you're looking
at potentially for this game, heading into
Seattle, a Seattle team that has been very,
very tough against the run is you're now going
to be able to go out there and scheme things up.
If Kyle Monangai is back on the field,
you're going to be able to scheme things up
to a point where.
You can have DeAndre Swift on the field
and everybody's in a receiver position.
Now DeAndre is out there to catch the football,
not so much to be a runner, but you want to
throw things off because Kyle Monangai has improved
his game tremendously and catching
the football out of the backfield.
So maybe you use him in some passing downs,
but you can't sleep on Kyle because especially
in some fourth and one situations, he's a guy that can run through you.
And especially in some of these goal line red zone situations
with the Bears have improved
on, he can run through you.
That just adds a dynamic to this run game that I think the Bears
haven't had over the past couple of weeks.
And with this team starting to get healthy at the
right time, hopefully as Azu Trappello starts
to slot in there a little bit more consistently
at that left tackle spot. You've seen him
this year. He struggled a little bit,
right? He's been very up and down again. There is no replication.
For playing NFL football,
you have to play NFL football to get up to NFL football speed.
So I think you're seeing that process happen here
with Ozzie and they're slow playing him
back in.
Maybe this is a week where we see him more in that starter role.
I think that this could be a week as well,
though, where you see the running back room
start to get healthy and you see yet again that very,
very dangerous rushing attack that
the Bears had to lead the season.
That was something that they were able to lean on.
That was something that they were able to rely
on week in and week out, no matter the
opponent.
I think that's the part that you really want
to see this Bears team be able to get back
to, oh, by the way.
Caleb Williams is also playing at an elite level right now,
and so he can still make
those deep passes, make those quick passes,
and I think there's going to be a lot of short
passing game here to try and have extended run plays
and try and dink and dunk your way
down the field in some crucial moments,
and then you can allow Kyle Monangai, hopefully,
if he is back and at a full go, to do what he does best.
I'm excited to hopefully get Kyle back
into the lineup here as we start to see some injury
reports come out.
It'll be very interesting to see.
You know, if he is limited, if he is full go,
but it sounds like the Bears are very
hopeful.
the Kyle Monangai guy is going to be back on the field.
And that has me very hopeful for what
this Bears team could do this upcoming Sunday.
Again, let me know how you guys feel down in the comments below.
