The Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to slow the Russian offensive in the Donetsk region and stabilize the front near Slovyansk, according to OSINT analyst Clément Molin.

He noted that the situation here is more difficult for Ukraine than in Zaporizhzhia, although there too, they managed to slow the Russian advance and stabilize the front in the Slavyansk region.

At the beginning of 2026, the Ukrainians abandoned their positions in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, after which the Russian Federation, with four armies along a 50-kilometer stretch of the front, launched an offensive in the direction of Dobropillia. At the same time, the Russians have currently stopped attempts to advance towards the western administrative borders of the Donetsk region and towards Druzhkovka.

Infiltration is the main Russian tactic in Dobropillia and sometimes reaches the city center. He asserts:
