In recent days, Ukrainian FP-1 drones have struck three Russian rubber industry plants: Voronezhsintezkauchuk, Omsk Kauchuk, and Togliattikauchuk. These plants produce not only materials for civilian use but also polymers used in the manufacture of solid rocket fuel. Fire Point announced this. One such polymer binds rocket propellant components into a single charge and simultaneously serves as additional fuel. Fire Point claims that such materials are important for the production of solid propellant used in the engines of Russia's Iskander-M ballistic missiles. Thus, strikes on rubber industry facilities are aimed at weakening the chemical base of Russia's rocket production. Among the most frequently attacked facilities is Togliattikauchuk , which, according to Fire Point, has been hit at least four times. The Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant has been attacked three times. According to the company's estimates, there are approximately ten large rubber industry enterprises in Russia. As of October 25, six of them had been subjected to a total of 11 successful attacks. The Tolyattikauchuk plant manufactures synthetic rubbers, monomers, fractions, and high-octane gasoline additives. Its products serve several industrial sectors, including the production of materials used in military applications.

Synthetic rubber is particularly relevant to the defense industry because certain types can be used in the production of solid rocket propellants. These propellants are employed in various missile systems, including tactical and ballistic missiles, making chemical industry facilities part of the broader supply chain supporting russia's missile production capabilities. Earlier, Ukraine's defence forces have struck three facilities in Russia's Ulyanovsk, Tula and Voronezh oblasts. The targets included the Yefremov Synthetic Rubber Plant in the city of Yefremov, Tula Oblast, and Voronezhsintezkauchuk near Voronezh. he General Staff said both facilities are involved in the production of solid rocket fuel, including for ballistic missiles used by the Iskander operational-tactical missile system.

Another facility struck was NPP Zavod Iskra plant in Russia's Ulyanovsk. Ukrainska Pravda reported the attack earlier citing OSINT sources. The General Staff said the plant was struck on the night of 24-25 September.

The General Staff said Zavod Iskra is part of the Almaz-Antey air and missile defence conglomerate and produces semiconductor devices and electronic components for Russia's military-industrial complex.

The General Staff added that, as part of production cooperation, the plant is involved in manufacturing Kh-59M2/M2A guided air-launched missiles and the 72V6 combat vehicle used in the Pantsir-S surface-to-air missile and gun system and its variants.

The General Staff said Voronezh is around 180 km from the Ukrainian border, Yefremov about 300 km away and Ulyanovsk around 800 km away.
