Halloween season at Sleepy Hollow ice cream shop

Part of the spirit of the season, this particular holiday, I should say, is that people go all out. They go all in, if you will, you know, whether it's decorations of the house, whether it's costumes for kids and adults. Anyway, Ryan Christopher kind of caught up with one in Sleepy Hollow, if we were going to call it Spooky Hollow. But check out what Ryan found. Sleepy Hollow, not just in October. It's spooky season, 365 days a year right here in this sleepy little village. But it's got so much going on. Earlier, we were hanging out in the cemetery. And now we figured, let's hit another hot spot. the ice cream shop. We are here at Main Street Sweets. We are here with Cali Winano for your time Cali, of course, thanks for having us, okay this is such a cool family tradition because it's fun chatting with you here on Good Day New York. Check this out, you got the whole family everyone, all right, we're gonna go down the line here, introduce yourselves and tell us how long you've been working here at the shop. Jean Bernardo, 25 years. Look at you, Marlena Bertolacci, 26 years oh you got a beat, Mama Bernardo, 26 years. Oh, Mama Corey Bernardo, 26 years this is so cool, so this is a family affair, and then we got the next generation, Beaus back there as well as Grayson, so Cali come on over here, this is such a fun tradition you've been working here since you were a little kid right, all these generations, yes right when I can walk, I had no, I had no choice. Forget child labor laws, that's not important but let's talk about these special spooky treats that you guys have for us this morning. And as we were mentioning, it's spooky season all year long, but you can come here and celebrate with a little spooky ice cream. Of course. Yeah. I mean, we decorated for the season and it's spooky season all year round. Like we said, we have all kinds of different flavors and toppings, anything festive. Everybody just loves to come in and, you know, celebrate the Halloween time. And it's always a fun time here. And it's cool because you guys make your ice cream downstairs. I know you've been doing it for like 25 years. You're down there working hard every day so what makes your ice cream so special and unique it's made with love yeah yes well we can see that right here we do i mean if that doesn't say love i don't know what does now how do you guys feel about candy corn i love candy corn you so you're like the only person i could maybe get away not having some gummy worms but candy corn all right now we're getting controversial i don't know about all this and and how about you mama and now i don't really like candy corn i don't know where she got that from who raised her all right let's talk a little bit about the ingredients in these three ice creams right here so what are we working with okay we have apple cider donut ice cream we have a local bakery that we get our apple cider donuts from and we put them into our ice cream and delicious that's delectable then we have pumpkin ice cream of course for the season and you could top it off with some scary toppings or fun sprinkles and then we have horseman's hollow which is a chocolate ice cream brownie pieces crunchies fudge and worms gummy worms have you seen the headless horseman lately absolutely we see their headless horseman all the time running through the streets have you call the Sleepy Hollow Police Department we're just gonna let it go and not tell anybody we love seeing the horseman all right also it's cool because this is a family generational thing you got baby Beau right here is he the next in line to take over the biz um well we have my daughter's say maybe they'll be next in line and then Beau he's gotta learn a little bit more we got all the generations here he can't reach this hoop yet.
