The Proton-Electrotex plant in Oryol was hit by Storm Shadow missiles , something the Russians didn't expect and were unable to do anything about. This was stated by aviation expert Konstantin Krivolap on Channel 24.

"This Proton plant assembles missiles, and this concerns both the electronic and opto-mechanical components. In other words, it supplies the Russian military-industrial complex with all these systems: optics and electronics. And so we struck this plant. Apparently, there were four Storm Shadow missiles there. And the Russians couldn't do anything because the distance to Ukraine is about 200 km. Clearly, the missiles weren't flying in a straight line; they were trying to fly undetected because these missiles fly very low; they use stealth technology, making them difficult to detect. The Russians didn't have time to act, the air defenses didn't do anything, and the missiles hit their target," he said.

According to him, the missiles covered a distance of 200 km at a speed of 800–850 km/h in a quarter of an hour. "The Russians simply weren't counting on this. The plant was hit, seriously hit. It was once a fairly large enterprise, then they started leasing out their large production facilities to various other entities, but the Proton plant itself, its core, remained, and it was precisely this core that was hit," Krivolap emphasized. The Proton-Electrotex plant in Oryol was hit by Storm Shadow missiles, and the Togliattikauchuk plant was likely hit by drones. Such strikes indicate that the Ukrainian Defense Forces are successfully bypassing Russian air defense installations, military observer Denis Popovich stated on Radio NV.

He emphasized that both plants produce components for missiles used to strike Ukraine. Specifically, the damaged Togliattikauchuk plant produced components for solid-fuel missiles, specifically ballistic missiles.

"That is, production chains are being affected, that is, those involved in the production of ballistic missiles that strike Ukrainian territory," the observer noted. Also, as Popovich emphasized, the Proton-Electrotex plant in the city of Orel was hit by Storm Shadow missiles.

"There's very severe damage there. It's clear that this plant won't be operating for a long time," he said.

The expert added that Storm Shadow cruise missiles are high-tech, making them difficult to shoot down.

"Apparently, our British partners provided us with a certain batch of these missiles. There was talk that the British would provide us with a new batch. Regarding Tolyatti, it was clearly a drone attack. We very rarely launch missile strikes at such distances. I believe this strike was carried out by drones. Overall, this demonstrates the weakness of the enemy's air defenses and our ability to bypass enemy air defense sites and the zones they cover," the military observer explained.
