Cold mornings and a nice afternoon heading into the weekend for Long Island

I've been in contact with him. Corey's been out there all week tracking the temperatures in the morning. And he sees a big jump. When we get to sunrise, the temperature jumps, you know, 6 to 8 degrees. So there's going to be a big difference from 7 to 8 to 9 o'clock in the morning. And that's going to be good because it's going to be cold tomorrow morning. We're going to have temperatures starting out in the 40s. So most athletes are not used to getting out there, going for a swim at that temperature. And we'll be watching that through the rest of the day into tomorrow morning. Montauk, we do have the dry conditions out here. it's still a bit breezy at times but not as bad as it has been. The temperature starting out the door right now 47 in Huntington, 50 Medford, 48 and 52 in Montauk, 58 over towards Hempstead. We're watching a bit of a chill out here right now at the bus stop this morning Plainview around 49, 57 lots of sunshine again, still a bit of a breeze at times to start off our morning. Otherwise we have the quiet weather conditions. Orient, Shelter Island, Springs, Amagansett, Montauk, from the Hamptons to Hempstead, Roslyn, Islip, Port Jeff, clear skies and lots of sunshine for the start of our day. Throughout the afternoon, you will notice it's a little bit cooler today compared to what we had yesterday. Yesterday, we were around 65. Today, it's around 53 to 58 degrees for most of us. Dry weather conditions through 6 o'clock into tomorrow morning. Temperatures are going to drop. Some frost, especially in Suffolk County. But notice here, this is a little bit of a change. Saturday morning, there will be some clouds. So that may actually hold temperatures up a bit. That'll be some good news. And then going towards the afternoon, temperatures are in the 50s to around 60s. So your weekend forecast, it's a cold start with some frost, especially in Suffolk County. A mixture of sun and clouds to mostly sunny skies. 59 degrees. Looking good. 62 again. The threat of a little bit of frost, mainly in Suffolk County. So out towards Jones Beach, look at this, 7 o'clock in the morning tomorrow, 42, 46 at 9 a.m. And then quickly it goes into the 50s, so it's warming up. But for this time of year, it's a little bit chilly out there. All right, today we're looking at temperatures in the 50s, sunny, a little breezy at times, 30s to low 40s as we head through the overnight hours. Here's that 10-day forecast.
