Yeah, what a week it's been for anyone commuting across
the George Washington Bridge,
both going to work and coming home from work from the city.
Now, this morning, there was a huge backup, about 90 minutes.
That's what it would have taken you to cross
the George Washington Bridge earlier this morning at about 4.30.
But still, this morning, this is a Friday morning commute for you here,
and you still have a lot of cars.
At least traffic is moving.
It was basically at a standstill before 6 a.m.
But this is what it looks like on a Friday.
There was construction going on on the upper levels here,
and they had three lanes closed out of the four lanes,
and that really slowed things down.
So there's already some backups stretching all
the way back to 95 and to 80.
It's been a tough week for commuters on the George Washington Bridge.
You had the deadly road rage incident,
and then you had the deadly motorcycle crash.
In both of those incidents, they had to be investigated,
and that shut down lanes on the George Washington Bridge.
And then, of course, you have the construction
that's going on to make the improvements here.
We've all seen those viral videos of debris falling from the bridge.
So construction the case this morning.
We'll keep an eye on things.
Perhaps a lot of people getting to the bridge earlier than usual just
to dodge any incidents that they might run into this morning.
So we'll certainly keep you updated.
But it's been a week for anyone commuting
on the George Washington Bridge.
We're in Fort Lee.
