Well, Fairfield County was rocked
by multiple flooding events this past summer.
But long before that historic rain on September 13th,
homeowners on Savoy Street had been sounding the alarm
for years about the serious problem plaguing their neighborhood.
This flooding situation in the North End has been going
on for a number of years. We needed it addressed immediately.
Bridgeport City leaders and North End residents packed
the North Branch Library Thursday night
to talk a little bit about the decades-old problem.
It might be a long road, but at least it's a beginning, it's a start.
Dale Foti has helped spearhead the effort for answers.

City officials have maintained that fixing the problem won't be easy
because it involves multiple towns and cities and several waterways.
Oxbrook, for example, runs through several
homeowners' properties in Bridgeport.
So you have Bridgeport and Trumbull
and Fairfield all part of the same grant application.
And that has been approved.
It's just a matter of the money becoming available.
It only becomes available once it gets on the bond agenda.
If we get the attention of the mayor, the governor,
I think, especially, just start somewhere.
