Nice, dry. I mean, this is a really long stretch
of dry weather to get out and enjoy.
No, and not only that, the wind, which has been gusty the past couple
of days, is subsiding, lowering into the day tomorrow.
Beautiful out there today. It's gorgeous. I've got to tell you.
I sound like a broken record.
We're going to really sound like broken records
by the middle of next week. It could be dry for that long.
We'll get into the 10-day in just a moment,
but helping you plan ahead for the weekend.
First and foremost, it's going to be beautiful,
but we're going to have cold starts the next several mornings.
So you'll want the winter coat.
There could be some patchy frost Saturday and Sunday mornings as well.
Afternoons will feel cool, but nice for this time
of the year overall under some sunshine, upper 50s to low 60s.
So great weather to get out
and enjoy maybe some fall colors here on Long Island.
We're now more into the moderate foliage color at the moment.
If you have any photos of any trees that look nice by you,
send it our way on social media,
and we'll show some of those on air
as we go throughout these next few weeks.
So the wind is still just breezy as we go throughout this evening.
Some gusts around 25 miles per hour or so,
but most of the wind is sustained at 10 to 20 miles per hour now.
And that will be the case through Friday morning.
So wake up on Friday. It's chilly. It's still breezy.
But as we go throughout the day on Friday, the wind becomes much,
much lighter as subtropical storm Josephine,
which is already several hundred miles off to our east southeast.
It continues to pull further and further away.
That wind will drop off more and more.
So feature cast this evening and over
Overnight it's mostly clear. It's cool and fairly comfortable
but still breezy this evening so still have a jacket.
Tomorrow morning will feel a bit more chilly with temperatures
starting off in the lower to middle 40s but you factor in that breeze.
It can feel like the upper 30s for a short time early tomorrow
morning before those temperatures warm up into at least the middle
and upper 50s and it will be a cool nice day under
that sunshine with that diminishing wind.
So overnight tonight clear, chilly, breezy, lows
in the 40s will feel like the upper 30s in spots early in the morning.
Friday's highs around 59 in Hempstead.
and Huntington to around the mid 50s at West Hampton Beach.
59 in Riverhead as well. These
numbers a couple of degrees below average for this time of the year
and that breeze again slowly
drops off. Small craft advisory
though for still parts of the south shore over the ocean. Waves
still around three to six feet.
Certainly still choppy there as we go throughout the day tomorrow
but improving conditions along the coastline for sure.
Weekend through all of next week right now
looks beautiful and it warms up into the 60s starting
on Sunday. An early look at Halloween
next weekend looks nice and sunny.
