Russian Z-channels are reporting a deterioration in the Russian army's position on the front lines, which the command recently presented to Putin as sites of a successful offensive. Fighting continues in settlements declared captured, Ukrainian forces are retaking their positions, and they are distributing AI-generated videos of flags as evidence of Russian "victories." In some areas of the front, such as near Liman, the Russian army completely fled from its positions. Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov reported to Putin on the capture of Novopavlovka, Novoandriivka, and Dobropolye. He also stated that Russian advance groups were five kilometers from the southern outskirts of Zaporizhzhia. Following the report, Putin announced an offensive along the entire front line and a noticeable acceleration in its pace. However, Russian military bloggers describe a different situation. They estimate the distance to Zaporizhzhia to be at least 23 kilometers. Novopavlivka remains under Ukrainian control on Rybar's map, and the canal indicates Ukrainian counterattacks near Novoandriivka and Novodanilovka. Near Orekhov, "Rybar" admits that the situation for Russian forces is "gradually deteriorating." Ukrainian troops have cut off one of the entry routes into the city from Malaya Tokmachka. "The enemy was able to push the Russian Armed Forces back within the city limits," the report states. Malaya Tokmachka is a special example of the gap between reports and events on the front. The Russian Ministry of Defense announced its capture back in November 2025, but reports of fighting continue. A week ago, "Rybar" reported on Ukrainian groups entering the village. Boris Rozhin's constant reports of the offensive on the village have already turned into a meme about "impregnable Tokmachka," which Z-authors compared to Troy and Verdun. Another problem arose with the claims of Dobropillia's capture: Russian monitoring projects discovered signs of manipulation in videos intended to confirm control of the city. One of them, according to the "Creamy Whim" project, shows a Russian flag held by "a man with a thumb instead of a head." Other Z-channels are also analyzing fake videos from Dobropillia and clearly reporting that fighting for the city continues. They say it's too early to talk about its capture, although Gerasimov has already reported this to Putin.
