Thousands of firefighters battle wildfires in northern Portugal

Around 2,000 firefighters are battling several wildfires in Portugal, authorities said Tuesday. According to Associated Press the country has been experiencing especially high temperatures since the weekend. The fire of most concern in Torre de Moncorvo, in northeast of Portugal, has been burning since Saturday. On Tuesday several regions of north and central Portugal continued to be on high alert due the weather conditions and to increased wildfire risk.
