Ukraine has begun firing British drones deep into Russia for the first time

Over the past six months, Ukraine has begun using British drones to strike targets at long ranges deep inside Russian territory. Among them is the Nyan jet drone, which was being tested by the Royal Navy, according to The Times , citing sources in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

According to the publication, Ukraine also used another British drone, the manufacturer of which is not being disclosed for security reasons. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian military conducts most long-range strikes using domestically produced drones.

"The armed forces have achieved significant success with British drones," a senior source in the Ukrainian armed forces said. According to The Times, British drones were used to attack Russian oil refineries near Moscow, Yaroslavl, and Volgograd. The Nyan drone was also used to strike targets near Belgorod.

Ukraine's use of British drones could provoke a new reaction from Moscow. Sources told The Times that Russia could escalate its hybrid campaign against the UK. According to a senior source in the British Defense Ministry, Moscow is already conducting cyberattacks and espionage operations against the country.

At the same time, the British side has not officially confirmed the full list of drones that could have been transferred to Ukraine and used during strikes deep into Russia.

In recent weeks, Ukraine has intensified its campaign of long-range strikes against Russian military infrastructure and facilities supporting the Russian army. The aim of these attacks is to weaken Moscow's ability to continue its war against Ukraine. Trecently, Ukraine launched a series of long-range strikes on Russian territory. Specifically, Flamingo missiles struck a key Roscosmos facility located 900 kilometers from the border, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"Today, we have seen new, significant results from our diplomatic strikes. In Russia's Samara region, one of Roscosmos' key facilities, the Progress Center, which produced electronics, was hit. Flamingo rockets were used, which is a significant achievement. The distance from our border is approximately 900 kilometers," Zelenskyy stated.

Furthermore, Ukraine's "long-range sanctions" also reached the Savasleyka airfield, home to Russian missile carriers that strike Ukrainian cities and villages. The President noted that this target is located approximately 700 kilometers from Ukraine. Zelensky also reported that damage to an oil facility in the town of Ust-Luga, located more than 800 kilometers from our border, has been documented.

"I am grateful to all the units involved for their accuracy. Our plan for long-range sanctions against Russia for this war is being implemented, and it is important that Russia's military potential be reduced," the president noted.
