SWIMMING WITH DOGS

Good morning Pawdience! Oakley's like, let me in. It's too hot out here. Let me inside. You want inside, don't you? How about you girls? You want inside? You realize it's gonna be 91 degrees today. I think it's time to go inside. Oh man, don't stand there. Your feet are gonna get hot. I don't have shoes on. Come on. Let's go inside. Holy man. It's hot out. Thanks for liking and subscribing to Snow Dogs Vlogs. You guys don't make leaving this house very easy. Every time I leave, that's what I have to look at. You're making me sad girls. I'm just... I'll be right back. I swear. I always make it so difficult to leave. I'm literally just going to cancel the insurance on the other house since we sold it. I'll be gone like 15 minutes. Yet, they give me the look and I feel so guilty. All right, we're getting ready to go out for birthday dinner out at my aunt's cottage at the lake and we're actually gonna take Memphis with us and Shelby and Oakley are gonna stay here and enjoy a Kong. I just had the Kongs out so they know that they're getting a treat. She thinks she's getting a treat too. She has no idea what's going on. So this is always the hardest part. What do you do? We have three dogs. We're going to the lake. Oakley does not like to swim at all. She doesn't... The last time we took her out to the lake, she didn't want to be near the water. Shelby would probably be okay with us, but then Oakley would be here all by herself. Memphis would be okay with us. But you know, we gotta leave somebody here. I don't want to leave Oakley alone. If I leave Memphis with Oakley, Memphis will tear things up. Memphis is good when she's with Shelby, but she's not good when she's with Oakley. So you are gonna get a frozen Kong. You are gonna get a frozen Kong and you're gonna come with us for a little bit. And then maybe I'll take you back out there later and let you get in the water too. If there's time. If not, maybe tomorrow. So I'll get you your Kongs. See that? These two girls are in heaven! You get to stay here in the AC. The other reason we can't take Oakley, it is actually 93 degrees outside. She would completely overheat. You girls be good. We'll be back. I know some of you guys think it's unfair when we take one dog and not all three dogs. But you have to remember we have to do what is best for each dog. Sometimes that means these dogs get to stay home and enjoy their Kongs and one gets to go with us. But as soon as it cools off, we'll be back to being able to do everything with everybody. Where daddy go? Did he go get us some drinks? Where'd he go? Did he go in that store? You don't like it when we leave, do you? I think Memphis does have a little bit of separation anxiety. Yeah? Is that why you eat paper when we're gone for too long? He'll come back. He'll come back. I swear. Memphis, look! There he is! He came back! No, you gotta get out of his seat though. He's gotta get in. Come on. Come on out of his seat. Can I get in? She was just crying. What did you miss, I mean? She's like, I was upset. You had to come back. So this is the first time Memphis has used her life jacket that was given to us by Mike from Press Record. I think she really likes it. Normally, she doesn't go out this far. I got you. She's like, I kind of want to go see those other dogs. Memphis is like, wait, I kind of want to chase that dog. What do you think, honey? What do you think, huh? She's like, I kind of like looking. Where are you going? You wanna come back with me? Okay, come on. Come back with me. We'll go back this way. Was that the most fun ever? Was that the most fun ever, huh? How about you guys? Did you have the most fun ever? Yet, nobody's tired. Did you swim long enough? All right, that's what happens when we stand back out of the water. Look at how skinny Memphis looks. You're a little bit drier, but you still look skinny. You gotta wait. You wanna go back in the water? You gotta wait, sorry. Taco birthday dinner. See, we told you guys. Oh, we have to wish mom happy birthday still. After... I forgot her phone. I thought it was in the box. No, that's the other thing I got her. I forgot mom's new phone though. What? What? What's the deal? You see that other dog and you want to see the other dog. I don't think I brought your belt, but I'll hold you. Oh, she likes lettuce. Oh, dog and kids and dogs and kids. So much excitement. You're all upset, aren't ya? Look, I can film you from here. Wait, we gotta wait for Danielle. And we gotta sing. Cause it's birthday. Happy birthday. Thank you. We're looking at the birthday cake. It's blue and white. No. What color is it? I was gonna say, it's melting. It's melting fast. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear... Happy birthday to you. Don't drop that cake. Yeah, I know, right? Here's the not invisible cake. See? It really says happy birthday. Kathy and Jamie. Not invisible and melting now though, cause I'm taking my time with this. Look at that knife. Not messing around with that. It's like cutting a rock. It's ice cream cake guys. I think that worked. Pretty darn good. What do you think babe? She's like, I think I swam pretty good in that. We'll have to let Shelby try it out next time. Come on, we're gonna put this back in the Jeep. Gee, did you even realize we were gone? Did you enjoy your Kongs and your awesome nap? Wanna go outside? Come on, let's go outside. Here, go talk to Memphis. She'll tell you all the things she did. Did you miss her? They're like, eh, she still smells the same. She kinda smells like water. Yep. They could have cared less. See, and that's the difference. When we leave Memphis, she freaks out. I do think she has some form, some small amount of separation anxiety. Where Shelby is so carefree and Oakley is fairly carefree when it comes to not having to do active things. They do good. Stay in here. I don't see the chipmunk, but I heard him. So hopefully he made it out of the yard. Oakley's coming to see what you're doing. She's like, hey! What are you doing over here? What's he doing, huh? Look at all the chicks and ants! Yeah, there's a bunch of them. Yeah, there is. A lot of grass growing up in it. We'll have to start transplanting them. The cherry trees are gonna go. Yep, I think we're gonna get rid of the cherry trees. This one's still kind of alive. That one is not alive. What are you doing? Shelby, what are you doing? What are you doing? Shelby? What are you doing? She's like, I'm just coming to keep dad company. She's like, scratch my eye. I got an itch right here. You're such a good girl. She's like, you're gonna sit on the ground? I'll come lay next to you. What are those Memphis? You went swimming and they had Kongs. What do you think about that? Don't worry, I'll feed you dinner though. It sounds like air conditioner in here. So as you guys know, on our landing going down for the dogs to go outside, we have like wooden steps and Oakley has slipped up them, down them, sideways on them many times. So we've been looking for a good solution for how to fix it and I'm gonna show you what we got. So that Oakley won't slip on the steps anymore. Alright, so these are the steps that Jamie made for us when we redid the floor in here and this is what we bought. We bought these rubber step covers and Jamie is trimming them so that they will fit over the steps perfectly. And hopefully Oakley won't slip anymore, right? That's what we're hoping. Or me. I've actually slipped on these steps. Have you ever done that? I did it once barefoot. I stepped and slipped. Hopefully that will help. And I'm gonna get another rug for right here so that she doesn't slip here. She tends to try to run when she comes in and sometimes she slips up the steps. So hopefully this will help. Wow! We just got let out here. Come on, baby! Look at that! Normally she ends up way over here. Thank you! Awesome! No more slipping dogs! They're like treats? Not on the steps anyway. That's pretty cool!
