Chili Cook-Off and Donuts for Dogs!

Well, good wonderful beautiful morning Pawdience. What's with all the toys? What happened? Did you take out half the toys to play with? What? What's the deal, huh? What's the deal? Good morning. Hi, how's it going? Did I wake you up? Yeah? I think your friends are coming over today because it's game night. I think you got some friends coming over to play. Does that sound fun? Yeah? Sounds fun to me. So my brother is in a chili cook-off this morning. So I came downtown to check out the chili cook-off and see how things are going. It's like this big downtown event in downtown Alpena. They do it every fall in October. It's the chili cook-off. So we're gonna go check this out. Boom Thank you. Are you eating a cracker? That made you happy, huh? Yeah, you just wanted a cracker. So I'm back from the chili cook-off. Got a little bit of footage while I was there. It was going over pretty good. They're doing it for four hours, I think today. My brother's chili was really good and a lot of people kept stopping by and saying that they liked his the best. So there's a thousand dollar prize involved. He's supposed to text me and let me know if he won or not later on this afternoon. So I guess we'll have to wait and see. But that was kind of fun. Yeah, was that fun? Is Greg coming over? Greg's coming over. We're gonna go grocery shopping so we can make food for game night. What do you think of that? She's like, you're not making food for me. Did I just tell you? What did I just tell you, huh? Can you smell them through the window? Who's here, Shelby? Who's here? Yeah, who is it? Who's here? Do you know that guy? The intent listening. She's like, oh my gosh, it's been like... She's like, it's been like a few days or something. Yeah, it kind of has, hasn't it? She's like, I remember you. I'm surprised she's not being loud. I know. Are you happy Greg is here? I told you he was coming. You didn't believe me, did you? Hi Greg. So lately for game night, we haven't really been doing much for food. Probably because it's been summer. Now that it's a little bit colder out and stuff and we feel like we can be in the house more, we're doing food again. So we're actually having tacos for game night tonight. So that's what I'm doing, preparing some taco stuff. Greg went to go get another slow cooker for me from his house. The dogs are enjoying their lunch right now. Don't you take that from her. And I believe Eric is bringing Alana over for them to play with for a little bit today. Oh, it's time to feed the squirrels. The dogs are like, wait, it's time to feed us. It's time to feed us. Gotta give them squirrels some peanuts so they make it easy. I know. What do you think, huh? You're gonna put birdseed in the other feeder? Yeah. What do you girls think? They're like, dad, I would take a peanut. Oh yeah, so we bought this. I don't know a lot about birds and birdseed. Look out. But I bought that. I have a feeling it'll be the squirrels eating it though. What do you think? Yeah. Memphis is like, wait, what's that? I haven't seen that yet. I don't know what that is. She's like, nope, I'm going back to check out this birdseed. You can run. Shelby's like, nope, the neighbor dog is out. We're gonna do laps. That's what she wants. She's like, I'll hide and then I'll take off. Go Memphis, go! Oh, Shelby's seen him running. Shelby, you cheater. That's a corner. That's not how this works. Okay, well you can do that too. Did you see him? He's right over there. There he goes. I see him in the trees. Squirrel friend out there. It's the next day, by the way guys. And Memphis is going straight to check the chipmunk hole. So it is now the next day and for those of you that may not know, I'm actually going to VidSummit next week today. The day I'm filming this is, what is it, Sunday? I'm going to VidSummit next week. Jamie's staying here with the dogs. It's only like a two and a half day thing. Sucks because it's like a full day of travel there and a full day of travel back. But I've been trying to get ready for that all week. I leave in just a couple of days. VidSummit's not really like VidCon. It's more of like an educational thing and I'm trying to learn how to like use my Facebook page better and use my Instagram page better. Not only for Snow Dogs vlogs, but also for Gone to the Snow Dogs. So that's one of the reasons I'm going. I'm gonna take a camera along. He'll have a camera here. So we'll film some things for sure. But right now I am out here looking for a couple of good apples because you remember a couple days ago we made apple cider for the dogs and I said I was gonna make cider doughnuts. Well today I'm gonna make cider doughnuts for dogs and we need two or three good apples off this tree. I mean, none of them are super good apples, but two or three decent apples off this tree should be good. This tree here is still just full of them. Jamie and I have been picking them up and taking them and dumping them for critters. But uh, yeah, wow, that back tree is really full too. The pretty apple trees. Alright, let's pick some apples so we can make some doughnuts. They definitely don't look like the prettiest apples because we didn't really treat them or do anything to them. But the reality of it is, is the insides of them are perfectly fine. So we just peel them. Jamie and I have even eaten a couple. Girls, you wanna come make doughnuts? Come on! Let's go! Oh my goodness, goodness, goodness. Look at this mess we made. Look how cute you look. You look so cute with that bandana on. So we are halfway. Well, we're almost done. Halfway with the doughnuts. I've got that much batter left. I'm gonna put these ones in right now and bake them and see how they turn out. What do you think? Super exciting? She's like, I don't know. So the first round of doughnuts came out of the oven and they look pretty good. We got the second round in right now. Then I think we're gonna have to decorate them because they always look more... They look prettier on camera when we decorate them, when we take pictures of them. So I think we'll have to do that. Put a little decoration on them. We worked so hard on these doughnuts. Do you want one before you go to bed? Whoa, did I just wake you up with a doughnut? Did I? Did I wake you up with a doughnut? Even Shelby's like, wait, why is she so excited? I would like a doughnut. Can you sit? Ding! Can you sit? This is your good night snack, okay? Here we go. Have a doughnut. See what you think. Okay, now you sit. Now we'll make you give her a moment to chew on her doughnut. Yeah, she's got to chew on hers. Because she's gonna take a lot of time and you are gonna woof it down. Sit! Speak! Good job! Sit! Ready? Okay, here you go. Have a doughnut. They're not really supposed to get one until tomorrow. But I figured they could have one tonight since I showed you guys the doughnuts. We're gonna finish up the video tomorrow. Is it good?
