Today was such a fun and full adventure day with the dogs. We started off our afternoon with an awesome two hour live stream over on Gone to the Snow Dogs where Eleanor had the most graceful slip right into the swimming pool while trying to save her squishy ball. After drying off from crazy pool zoomies and hammock cuddles, Jamie and I decided the weather was just too nice to stay home. We loaded Eleanor and Kira into the Jeep and hit the road to find some dinner and make some fun summer memories.
Our first stop was over at Grand Lake where we grabbed some amazing sandwiches from Sand Bay Trading Company. The girls made sure to supervise every single bite and of course they scored a couple little pieces of crust for being such good road trip passengers. From there we drove up to Thompson Harbor State Park right on the shores of Lake Huron. It brought back so many sweet memories of coming out here years ago with our sweet Memphis.
We hiked down the trail, dodged the poison ivy, and let the dogs splash around in the cool Lake Huron water. Eleanor even decided she was the queen of the jasper rocks while Jamie searched for fun fossils and Petoskey stones along the shoreline. We wrapped up our big day by heading back home for cookies and an evening walk where Kira and Eleanor finally spotted not one, but two neighborhood bunnies. Life is short, make memories with your dogs!
