When it's hot, I don't want to spend time in the kitchen, so I make small desserts
with big names, without peanuts, like this quick verrine, Melba style.
To complicate my life a bit, I decided to peel my beautiful peaches.
I chose two ripe peaches, to which I make a cross incision on the peel.
I put them in boiling water for 30 seconds.
Well, the water doesn't boil, but it's very hot.
Then I dip them in an ice bath.
And yes, my water is clean, what floats on the surface are remains of ice.
And then there is the drama.
I realize that, of course, by leaving the peaches whole, they are impossible to open in two,
since they slide like stones into the vase and that the core is well attached.
After having half massacred my peach, I just have to eat it,
and start again from the beginning.
So, for this step which, I don't know if I specified it, is completely optional,
I cut my ripe peaches in half.
Of course, the core breaks in half, and when I finally managed to get
this damn core out with a knife, I put my 4 halves of peaches to boil for 30 seconds,
before putting them in cold water.
And still, just for the satisfaction of peeling a whole peach and not having
only the fruity part, it's worth it.
But otherwise, you could just make this recipe really easy, and be content
to cut a peach into pieces.
I did all this mostly for the photos.
Once the peaches are raw, I dry them slightly in a paper, then I take out the two
containers in which I will prepare my desserts, you can take smaller ones.
Then just open my favorite vanilla yogurt, and I can move on to the assembly.
I start by putting a half peach at the bottom of my first glass jar, I put it whole
but you can use a peach cut into pieces.
A generous dose of vanilla-flavored yogurt, I used yogurt because I love it,
but you could very well use vanilla soy dessert cream, all ready.
A new layer of peaches, a new layer of yogurt, then I do the same thing
with my second jar.
I wanted to stay in the peach-mail-bar spirit, but you can use the fruits
you want.
It was a dessert just for me and my companion, but if you have guests,
you can very well replace the yogurt with dessert cream, and you will have a dessert
fresh and fruity, without a headache.
Traditionally, raspberry coulis are put on the peach-mail-bar, but since I had
fresh raspberries, I thought I might as well put them whole.
A small mint leaf for decoration.
And our fresh desserts are ready.
I hope you like this little idea, it's clearly more of an idea than a recipe
to make you want to eat summer fruits, even when you don't want to eat
just a fruit.
Or when, like me, you don't like smoothies.
Tell me in the comments what is your favorite summer fruit, and if you like what I do,
don't forget to put a blue thumb and subscribe.
We'll meet again soon with a new video, so in the meantime,
I send you kisses and I'll see you soon!
