There's no country in the world that gives money to their children like Korea.
You have to pay your tuition, buy a book, buy bread, buy a game console, and have a wedding.
When are you going to save money?
That's how I made money, but I can't get a job these days.
Out of the 2030 generation, 613,000 people are just taking a break.
But 70% of them rely on their parents for living expenses.
Those who don't even come when they get married make a lot of money.
If you get a job, you'll make a lot of money, right?
No.
You have to stay alone and do well.
If you don't manage this problem, no matter how much you get, your old age will be unfortunate.
Next time, I'll tell you about child risk.
If you don't manage your child's risk well, you'll ruin your child's future and ruin your old age.
I was surprised.
As of June 2023, out of the 2030 generation in Korea,
People who just take a break.
It's very funny.
They just take a break.
They don't work and they don't even think about getting a job.
The 2030 generation who just take a break is 613,000.
But 70% of them rely on their parents for living expenses.
It's a so-called kangaroo.
But when a kangaroo hears this, it gets angry.
Why?
Kangaroos are said to chase away their own babies for a year.
There's no end to people.
It's not just the 2030 problem.
These people become adults.
Your child failed in business.
It's a credit deficit.
I got married and divorced.
That's an adult child's risk.
If you don't manage this problem, your old age will be unfortunate.
But in Japan, this kangaroo is called a parasite single.
The word parasite is famous for Bong Joon-ho's movie Parasite.
It's a parasitic toxin.
I saw the data released in Japan a few years ago.
At that time, there were 18.95 million people in Japan between the ages of 35 and 44.
Of them, about 2.95 million people are married and live with their parents.
So it's a parasite single.
What happens when parents die?
It's okay if you have a job, but there are more friends who don't.
They don't report the death of their parents and secretly get their pension.
Or they turn into a parasite single.
In the UK, it's called keepers.
Children who take their parents' pension.
No matter how much you look at it, if you're at risk of having children, it's meaningless.
But in the world now, there's no country in the world that gives money to its children like Korea.
Last year, on American CNN,
I divided the total cost of raising children from 0 to 18 years old in the main country into GDP.
Do you know which country has the highest ratio?
Korea.
Second place is China.
Third place is Italy.
So Korea is the country that gives the most money to its children compared to its income in the world.
What kind of money?
First of all, it's tuition.
You know that, right?
Second, it's the cost of marriage.
I asked a friend who has a lot of daughters in Japan.
Hey, how much did you pay for your daughter's marriage?
Did you give her 1.5 million won when you went on a honeymoon?
He said he paid 1,000,000 won with our money.
He's the boss.
In Korea, the national average is 1,400,000 won for a daughter and 1,700,000 won for a son.
This is the national average, so the city will pay much more.
People who don't even come when they get married pay a lot of money.
It's a big deal if you only have a few sons.
But is this the only money that goes in?
There's another problem.
It's overspending.
Last year, I interviewed a couple in their late 40s in Seoul.
This is the house that spends the least on tuition.
The couple is in their late 40s, and they make about 100 million won.
That's a lot of money.
But the money that goes into the tuition for two people in the second year of elementary school and the second year of middle school is 3,360,000 won.
Then you have to pay the tuition, buy a book, buy bread, buy a game machine, and feed your family.
When do you save money?
But the problem is, it doesn't matter if you earn 100 million won until 60 or 70.
The average retirement age of Korean office workers is 51.7 years old.
Most of them come out of work in their early 50s.
Then even if you get a re-employment, it's over if you get half of the salary you got first.
If you get a re-employment, your annual salary is 20 million won.
But since then, people who have earned a lot of money, such as children, college, high school, marriage, labor, medical expenses, and so on, are eliminated from the middle class after their 60s.
But the problem is, if you don't get a job,
In Japan, the unemployment rate is 96% last year.
In Korea, the unemployment rate is 68%.
It includes people who went to the army and people who went to college.
If you take that out, the unemployment rate will drop by 50%.
No, one of them can't get a job.
What's important is to eat well and dress well.
From their point of view, it's crazy.
Then, even if it's hard, if you get a job, it's 10,000, 20,000 won?
No, it's not.
Professor Shin Dong-kyung of Kyunghee University announced that
The probability of a man working from his main job to 45 years old is not even 60 years old.
50 years ago, the birth rate was 70 to 80%.
58 years ago, the birth rate was 40%.
60 years later, the birth rate is 20%.
Now, you have to quit all three years, get a job, and quit again, get a job, and quit again.
You have to change jobs about six times in your life to get a job.
It has nothing to do with getting good grades.
You have to be brave.
In the old days, there were a lot of new jobs.
You could study science and get a job at a university.
Now, there aren't many new jobs.
What should you do?
You have to go to a small company and change jobs a few times to become a good doctor.
What do they look at when you change jobs?
Grades? Specifications? No.
They look at whether you're good at what you're trying to do or not.
They look at your expertise.
Second, reputation.
In a word, if you're rude or not.
If you get caught here, it's over.
These days, the people in charge of big companies are gathering together.
Let's not be fooled. Grades. Let's see again. Specifications.
How deceived would you be?
In fact, if you study science and get a job at a good university and become a lawyer,
I was surprised not long ago.
In my school, we hire a lawyer and there are 50 lawyers.
It's overflowing.
Why is that?
The first Korean lawyer registration came out in 1906.
The 10,000th registration came out in 2006.
It took 100 years for a lawyer to increase to 10,000.
At this time, the lawyers were amazing. Because they were precious.
But it took 8 years to increase to 10,000 again.
It took 5 years to increase to 10,000 again.
Now it's the era of 33,000 lawyers.
Because lawyers don't have a job, tax officers and lawyers take jobs away.
Now it's the era of medical staff.
If you hire medical staff, it will be the same.
Now there is no safe job.
So what is it?
We and our children also have a proper job that fits this era.
Gyeongsangnam-do is also famous for its grand scale.
The 10 jobs in Gangnam-dong.
1. Don't go to places where you get paid a lot.
The salary is not given by the company.
I have a unique specialty.
Even if it's a small business, you have to work for a long time.
Don't go to places where other people make money.
These days, the company's entry competition rate is 200 to 300.
Those companies are famous in their late 40s.
At the very end, go to places where your parents, wife, and fiancee are against it.
There is no doubt about that.
From my 50 years of work experience, this is true.
But how is this possible?
Parents and children should have faith.
And then?
We try to be a middle class.
What is a middle class?
A middle class in Korea is someone who is aware of other people's eyes.
More than 30 apartments.
The number of apartments is a symbol of status.
But in the US, Japan, and developed countries,
there is a small house movement.
More than 2,000 cars.
It's a symbol of status.
In developed countries, if you suddenly get in a big car,
it's either a gangster or a gangster.
What is a middle class in the US?
Is that person mature inside?
He should be proud of his claim.
He should play fair.
He should help social weak people.
He should have the courage to resist injustice and lawlessness.
And he should receive a regular non-disciplinary certificate.
According to this standard, how many middle class people are there in Korea?
And then?
You have to think about what we are doing about our children.
This is what a Christian scholar named C.S. Lewis said.
The purpose of parents is to educate their children according to the normal principle of love, justice, honesty, and humor,
without taking into account the principle of deciding the fate of their children.
This is important.
In general, parents who have not been educated are better at keeping the principles of these parents.
Parents who have been educated should think about this.
The former principal of Geochang High School in Gyeongsangnam-do that I mentioned earlier said that
there are many excellent students in Geochang High School all over the country.
Among the students, who is the best student?
Those who are sent from the countryside to the farm.
They say that their son is the best in Korea.
They say, do whatever you want.
Who is the last one?
The son of a high-ranking official from Seoul.
The son of a CEO.
The son of a professor.
The son of a doctor.
They say it's a mess.
Because of the interference.
If I was an educated parent, would I not have done that?
You have to think about it.
And then?
Have we taught our children anything other than English?
Did we teach them how to manage money?
Did we teach them how to manage their finances?
Even if they can't learn English, they eat and live.
But if they don't know how to manage money and how to manage their finances, they will suffer for the rest of their lives.
A few years ago, I wrote a book and did some research.
In an American high school textbook, there are more than 40 pages on how to manage money and how to manage finances.
We don't even have a few pages, but we don't make a choice.
1.5% of the kids in the college entrance exam choose economics.
Because they don't learn.
Even if they graduate from college, they don't know the difference between saving and investing.
In the U.S., they only know when they graduate from middle school.
If they don't teach at school, they should at least teach their parents.
That's why they have to make a living with their savings without ruining their children.
This is how you manage your children.
Next, we have to reduce hospital and nurse expenses as we get older.
In order to do that, we have to be healthy.
But when I was young, a healthy person got cancer due to dementia.
I was surprised.
My wife also got cancer in the last decade or so.
In the U.S. and Japan, I asked retired people.
Retired people have to reduce their living expenses.
Did they reduce their living expenses?
30% to 40% of them said they didn't reduce their living expenses.
Why didn't they reduce their living expenses?
It's because of hospital and nurse expenses.
However, Japan's Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted a survey on elderly people over the age of 60.
The question was,
Are you healthy now?
In the U.S. and Japan, 60% to 70% said they were healthy.
But only 40% of elderly people in Korea said they were healthy.
Why is that?
It's because we've lived a rough life.
We don't know when we're going to get sick.
We don't know how much medical expenses we'll have to pay.
So, we have to take some kind of serious disease protection.
And then,
It's not our dream to live a 100-year-old life.
I saw the data a few days ago.
The average lifespan of men in Japan is 81 years old and 87 years old for women.
The average lifespan of men in Korea is 80 years old and 86 years old for women.
It's been a year.
But a few years later,
Japan will be the longest-lived country in the world.
I was surprised to see why.
There is no country in the world where health insurance is as well-supplied as Korea.
There are a lot of old people who came back from immigration to the U.S. and Canada.
If you ask why they came back,
There are a lot of people who say they came back because of health insurance.
In Canada, medical expenses are almost free.
The problem is that there is no order.
So, in Canada, they say they wait and die as a joke.
In the U.S., President Obama tried to implement a health insurance system for all Koreans like Korea, but he couldn't.
So, there are a lot of people who don't sign up for health insurance in the U.S.
So, those people have to pay $30,000 to $40,000 for appendectomy.
In the U.S., they die because they don't have money.
But in Korea?
A few days ago, I went to the hospital in Tongpung.
The cost of treatment was 1,500 won.
I went to the pharmacy to get prescriptions.
The price of medicine was 1,000 won.
I asked, why is it so cheap?
They said it's cheap for more than 65 years old.
That's why we live the longest in the world.
I don't know if it's good or bad.
When we prepare for old age,
Don't you think we'll live longer than my age on average?
No.
You have to base it on the 20% survival rate age.
The age at which one out of five survives.
In the case of people born in 1980,
Men are 100 years old and women are 102 years old.
So, we prepare for old age thinking that we will live until 100 years old.
So, it doesn't matter if you die within that age,
Even if you survive with a five-minute chance, you have to prepare for it.
And another thing.
It's good to live long, but the problem is that you live alone for a long time.
The old age that lives alone is waiting.
Why do you live alone?
There are three reasons to live alone in the old age.
The first is separation.
The second is the period of life.
People who get married and get old.
And the third is the emperor's divorce.
Let's look at the age of separation.
At the end of 2020,
452,000 women left their husbands first among men over the age of 50.
But there are 2.69 million women who left their husbands first among women over the age of 50.
It's six times more than men.
78% of old people living alone over the age of 70 are women.
So, it can be said that the problem of old people living alone is the problem of women.
You have to be more prepared.
Men say that after their wives leave first, they live alone for 9 to 10 years.
But women have to live alone for 15 to 16 years.
If you don't like it, what should you do?
You can marry a younger man.
So, out of 100 people who got married last year,
19 people got married to a younger man in the case of early marriage.
Young women are all living alone these days.
But those who are already married can't get tired of it.
You have to be prepared.
Even if you live normally, it's a long time to live alone.
What's the problem these days?
People don't get married.
People who don't get married until the age of 50 are called lifelong unmarried.
In the 1980s, the unmarried rate was 0.4% for men and 0.3% for women.
At that time, there were few people who got married.
But in 2020, the unmarried rate increased from 16.8% to 7.6% for men and 7.6% for women.
What's surprising is that the neighboring country is Japan.
26.7% of Japanese men and 17.5% of women get married once until the age of 50.
In 2040, 38% of Japanese men and 25% of Japanese women will get married.
Imagine that your son or daughter gets married.
Why did our generation get married in the past?
At that time, there was a higher probability of getting better than when you were under your parents.
If you get married, you live alone even if you live in a new house.
The blanket is also new.
These days, young people are more likely to get better than when they were under their parents.
Do you want to go to a poor family when you become a rich man?
Don't regret it later.
If you graduate from high school, you have to make it uncomfortable.
If you don't want to go out, you have to get money.
The unmarried rate of life, which has no special measures, has to be prevented.
Next is divorce.
In the 1970s, the unmarried rate was about 15,000.
But in 2021, the unmarried rate is 102,000.
But in the past, the unmarried rate was high in 4 years after marriage.
But in 2021, the unmarried rate is only 5% of the total divorce rate in 1990.
But in 2021, the unmarried rate is 39%.
The highest rate of marriage is the middle-aged unmarried woman.
You have to be careful about this.
I thought Japan was a big country for unmarried women because there was a lot of talk about unmarried women in Japan around 2020.
No.
The divorce rate itself is higher than Japan.
In Asia, the divorce rate is the highest.
And Japan still has a high rate of newlyweds, but Korea has the highest rate of middle-aged unmarried women.
In the 1990s, the unmarried rate of middle-aged unmarried women in Japan was 14%.
But in 2021, the unmarried rate is 21%.
But in Korea, the unmarried rate of middle-aged unmarried women in 1990 was 5%.
But in 2021, the unmarried rate is 39%.
It's a huge difference.
But what we need to know is that there are five cases of bankruptcy in the old age.
Failure to start a retirement.
Second, financial fraud.
Third, serious illness.
Fourth, adult children.
Fifth, unmarried women.
Unmarried women divide their property in half.
That's why they go bankrupt.
But Korea has a high rate of unmarried women.
What should we do in the future?
You have to think about it.
Next, unmarried women have a high rate of unmarried women, but their families are disbanded.
Old age.
If you go to the countryside, you can see old people living together in the village.
People who have the same hobby, people who live in the same neighborhood.
People who meet in a new flexible society.
People like that become more precious.
So what should we do in the future?
We need to know a lot of people who can meet each other in a new flexible society in the old age.
In 2021, the unmarried rate of young people living alone and the unmarried rate of single-parent families in Korea is 33%.
It's much higher in Europe.
In Sweden, the national average is 57%.
In the capital, it's 60%.
The whole country is living alone.
Then Sweden seems to be a more depressed and unhappy country than us, right?
But Sweden is the seventh happiest country in the world.
Why?
Even if you live alone, you don't have to worry about your pension.
Even if you live alone, we have prepared a way to find happiness in a new flexible society.
The problem is that we are going like this, but what am I going to do in the future?
I went to a bookstore in Japan a few years ago, and there were books like this.
It's a book about old age living alone.
At that time, I thought,
There are so many books.
I bought it.
But this is not about Japan.
I recently bought a book.
I was wondering if this book would sell well.
I went to Yeongpung Bookstore in Seoul.
There was a corner called the book of fire.
There was a book about living alone.
There were 20 books in Korea.
I was surprised.
What kind of book is it?
How do you prepare for the old age of living alone?
I'm not afraid of the old age of living alone.
How to live a happy old age of living alone?
Watch the last book carefully.
A woman's words and a man's words.
If a man leaves his wife first while living together, he suddenly becomes weak.
So there is a high probability that he will die within three years.
Even if his wife dies, a man who lives for more than 10 years is a very tough man.
On the other hand, if a woman leaves her husband first while living together, she will be sad for at least a month.
And from then on, the annoying existence disappears and she lives for more than 15 years.
There are 700,000 to 1 million books like this in Japan.
We're following them.
Why is that?
Because the old age of living alone is waiting.
So?
Anyone can be alone.
I need this preparation.
But the most important thing is to eat well and live well.
So you need pension.
You need to prepare for pension well.
And since the national health insurance in Korea is well-established,
you need to have a major disease insurance.
And even if you're not a family,
you need to find a way to find happiness in a new society, not in a lonely society.
And in most families, the husband is preparing for the old age of living alone.
After the husband leaves first, the wife has to prepare for the old age of living alone for more than 10 years.
A few days ago, a lawyer passed away.
In the old days, when a lawyer passed away,
his children fought over the land as an income.
But he passed away,
and there was only one phone in his name.
He made it so that there was no fight.
And there was a real estate agent who took over the business,
but he gave the ownership to his children,
but he only gave the ownership to his wife.
Until his wife passed away, the monthly rent was his wife's.
Consideration like this.
And rational choice in the form of housing.
I told you last time.
You have to be careful of large high-rise apartments when you get old.
And while the family is being disbanded,
a family recovery movement is also taking place.
In Japan, if three generations of grandchildren live independently in the same building or nearby,
they will be given a new house.
If an elderly person lives alone in a big house,
young people, group living, and sharing economy are also being activated.
We need to think about this problem at least once.
And in neighboring countries like Japan,
nursing homes and care homes are called care homes.
Care home refugees are a big problem.
What is a care home refugee?
It is a person who has to take care of someone who is sick because he is in a nursing home.
But there are no facilities to go in and there are no people.
Especially people are a problem.
There are a lot of Chinese people in Korea who come and help.
If they don't come, it's a big problem in Korea, too.
Why are nursing homes, care homes, and care homes increasing?
The number of elderly people is increasing.
In Korea, the baby boomer generation,
and in Japan, most of them are in post-secondary care homes.
So Korea is right on the verge of a cliff.
If all the baby boomers go into post-secondary care homes,
there will be a big problem.
There are no facilities.
And there are no people.
So if you go to a nursing home in Japan,
they welcome healthy seniors in their 70s and 80s.
Come and work.
So we don't know if a situation like Japan will appear in 10 years or 20 years,
but we have to prepare.
Where are these facilities?
What kind of place is good?
And you need that kind of cost.
You have to invest in something or sign up for insurance
and prepare enough pension funds.
I would like to tell you that you need to prepare for this.
