The Broncos have their next SUPERSTAR...

The Broncos have a superstar on their hands and I am overjoyed by this because I called it from
the beginning. I wanted him in the draft and now he is here making plays, scoring touchdowns,
getting big first downs in the fourth quarter in games and against teams that are ready to
also make an AFC push. I'm Sebastian from Broncos Digest. Welcome back everybody.
Really excited to get into all of this because man, this feels good.
Obviously after the Chiefs loss and just that embarrassing showcase, everyone's wondering
what are the Broncos going to do? Are they a fraud? Are they just going to be a team that is
kind of relegated back to being a mediocre team instead of a team that has a playoff
contender every single year? No, we are a Super Bowl contender and I stand by that.
I stand by all the hype from the summer and again, this is just one win. It's not like we're back to
that 10-game winning streak or whatever from last year. We have a long way to go. We have a lot of
hard teams to face but this is a great start and one player that is new to the team this year that
wasn't here last year was a major contributor and could be a contributor to the Broncos for a long
time. Make sure to subscribe, join the channel, join Broncos Digest and without further ado,
honestly, let's just jump right into this because it's awesome just talking about this.
So Scottie Payne from Mile High Report says that entering Sunday's game, the Broncos were already
down second year running back RJ Harvey who was dealing with a hamstring injury. This meant rookie
running back Jonah Coleman would see an elevated role on offense versus the Jaguars. He was still
behind veteran starter JK Dobbins who took the majority of the snaps early on but he too suffered
a hamstring injury and would be sidelined for the remainder of the game. This gave the rookie
running back Jonah Coleman an opportunity to shine in a big moment and he did not disappoint. I love
it and people are all in agreement about what he did for this team. You know, people were all saying
his play right at the end, staying in bounds, that was something you cover and maybe he doesn't get
those same reps in practice. He did a good job and that's the thing. He didn't look like a rookie.
He even said that. That didn't feel like a rookie in his praise for Jonah Coleman. That is saying
okay. It's a heavy praise for his first moment in the NFL really getting to take advantage of
consecutive snaps being the heavy back or the main running back on the team and I'm just so
proud of him and just the way that he took advantage of that moment and he is now nominated
for rookie of the week because of that performance amongst other rookies but that doesn't happen
without getting a moment to shine in which he did. DNVR Bronco said that Zach Stevens asked
Sean Payton about his confidence level in Jonah Coleman and being able to handle a bigger workload
and Sean said that, you know, listen, if it comes down to it, they have the utmost confidence in
Jonah Coleman even with RJ Harvey and JK Dom is dealing with their own hamstring injuries
individually. Tyler Batty obviously he's, you know, had some moments mostly on special teams
at this point during this year because with Marvin Moons dealing with his injury but Jonah Coleman
just being a straight-up running back all the confidence in the world with him. He is a bowling
ball. He does not shy away from contact but he's also a very intelligent player. He can hit the
gaps well. He recognizes his blocking schemes and just really does a great job of finding the hole.
It says and then this this is a great tweet here it says not sure the Broncos can go back to
Dobbins or even RJ Harvey after what Coleman did today. Kind of an overreaction maybe but at the
same time is it? Is it an overreaction if you're like seeing this kind of production from a running
back just in one quarter and in the clutch quarter where they needed a score. It was a tie game. It
wasn't like oh we're putting in a running back during a blowout. No. Coleman came in when the
Broncos one needed a score and then two needed to ice the game when they had the lead and got the
ball back. He did both scoring and getting that first down. A phenomenal job by Jonah Coleman and
if he has the smarts like this. If he has the vision. Really the only thing holding him back
is his size but people underestimate or overestimate the impact of size when you have
the football intelligence and the heart to push through a guy. To ram through a guy. To go and get
a first down. To go and get a touchdown. To get the yards. To get the necessary plays done to get
a win and it's just it's just his his fourth quarter timing could not have been better.
Lou Sketsgalia from Predominantly Orange said his first down carry and slide to keep the clock
moving down to the two minute warning was veteran stuff and his ability to get the end to the end
zone was also crucial. The Broncos offered comparisons to Dobbins with Coleman's running
style and perhaps this game where he actually got a notable workload can begin to set the
foundation for a decent workload going forward. This was a splendid mini breakout game for the
rookie and it came at the perfect time when the Broncos needed a win. Scotty Payne from
Mile High Report said so with Dobbins and Harvey currently banged up has Coleman earned the rights
to be the Broncos starting running back? I think as long as Dobbins is healthy he will be the guy
but Coleman is making a strong case for that job. I don't think Harvey's role is in danger
but Coleman is putting everyone on the hot seat and the reality is it's only a matter of time
before he takes it. Look at this praise everyone Jonah Coleman the guy that I said that I wanted
listen I knew that he wasn't gonna be a first or second round pick this was a fourth round pick
someone I would be totally okay with taking the third round as soon as he gets like good playing
time in the game he stands out everyone's praising him and it just it doesn't surprise me because I
saw from his highlight tape how good of a player he was and just like against good competition it's
not like oh he's you know I'm at no disrespect to Gente but like you know at Boise State you maybe
don't always face the best competition you know when you're at Washington you're gonna be going
up against some of the big dogs like Oregon and and those kind of teams like Coleman had great
tape against those teams and not to say that oh your college tape tells everything because the
NFL is a massive step up but you kind of just sometimes you can just tell the heart sometimes
you like when you see someone just over perform from their physical limitations like their size
and speed sometimes it's just it's a great indicator of what's to come and I again this
is one game one game is not enough in terms of a sample size to tell oh he's just starting running
back especially one quarter in a game well now a clutch quarter against a good team at home let's
see how he does in an away game and maybe in a full-time starting role let's see what he can do
like there's no and we don't even know if that's going to be something that's offered to him
you know regarding the J.K. because J.K. Dobbins as far as we understand that situation is pretty
good in terms of his health he just tweaked something in his hamstring nothing serious
he's probably going to be able to play against the Rams on Sunday Night Football but when it
be giving a lot more share of the carries to him RJ Harvey will find out still trying to learn more
about his injury status but when it comes to Coleman he might be the guy we we predicted
you know during training camp like oh he's the standout everyone's like like thinking like okay
Pat Bryant's looking really good Riley Moss is really good Jonah Coleman was also one of those
names and a lot you know like you know Riley's had his moments already Pat Bryant's getting a lot more
targets and Jonah Coleman is already showing why he might be the RB1 of this team just out of like
like pure well one availability but two just his performance and so I'm not going to try and
overreact I'm excited because of how much I wanted him before the draft we got him and now he's
playing well that's a really fun thing you almost feel like an NFL scout when that kind of thing
happens but I'm not trying to overreact we still need to see more I absolutely acknowledge that
um but there's a lot of guys that like you know are you know stepping up to the challenge Q.
Robinson got a sack against Trevor Lawrence that was great to see both of these guys I'm really
really excited to see grow into their roles really become more comfortable and uh it's just it should
be a really fun time I I can't wait to see what Bo this offense continues to develop into with
Davis Webb uh you know calling the plays how much does he lean into Jonah Coleman and the offensive
line and like just opening things up for him all this to say what do you guys think about this
sound off in the comments down below about your thoughts about the Coleman experiment
uh will JK Dobbins be the main running back throughout the year as long as he's healthy
or will Coleman just take it from him will Coleman jump RJ Harvey in the in the depth
chart sooner rather than later and what by and if you think so by what week so because things are
accelerating fast the best ability is availability and Jonah Coleman is showing that off very quickly
so sign up for the comments down below and until next video I'll see you then
