They CAN'T keep getting away with this...
Oct 17, 2026
They can't keep getting away with it, and yet here we are.
The Broncos win against the Seahawks on Thursday Night Football,
and I guess what some people would consider an upset,
but it did not come in the way that a lot of people expected,
especially being down major, major defensive players.
But the real story of this game is a tale of two halves,
and obviously that's not anything new for Broncos fans,
but what's different this time around
was the first half was the strong point,
and a very encouraging sign
and the second half was some of the most abysmal offensive football
you will ever watch in your entire life
and so the conversation while we all wanted to be like
oh man the Broncos they went through that six game gauntlet
and came out six and two it no one
is celebrating this Broncos team no one
is especially the offense and now it's become
a discussion of whether the Broncos need to bench
their quarterback need to find someone to trade
forumbecause it's gotten
so bad that even the biggest believers out there including myself
are questioning what what can
be done i i i found myself extremely upset and angry at Bo
watching a team struggle for first downs struggle
to do quite simply anything correctly
beyond not turning the ball over
and just punting the ball away at every opportunity
um we're gonna be breaking it all down here guys uh make sure
to subscribe join the channel
join Broncos Digest hopefully
this season you know turns around even though we're only
we're four and two and yet it feels like we're two
and four and it's funny Sean Payton said that
he knows that we could easily be two and four right now
and that was like his first acknowledgement
of the fact that this team isn't playing up
to snuff despite winning games um but yeah honestly
like without further ado let's just jump
into this because obviously the big story is how putrid
this offensive performance was so Adam Schefter
this morning uh posted Denver's 168 total yards
during Thursday night's win against Seattle represented uh
the fewest total yards the
Broncos have gained in a win since John Elway's first NFL start
in 1983 you can do some math there
but uh over 40 over 40 years it's been since uh we put up
a putrid offensive that putrid of an
offensive performance in a win um again
and that requires your defense to be historically great in
the game which they were they were this was as good
of a defensive performance as you could have
asked for against you know
the defending Super Bowl champs thankfully we're at home or we were
at home and uh that worked out
but man you want to talk about an unacceptable performance
it's just not even close uh in the second half it
was like that this is this put it perfectly
uh possession one punt possession two punt
possession three punt possession four punt
possession five punt possession six punt possession seven kneel
for uh uh overtime which you can
barely even count as a possession still
so and then they get the ball or sorry the the Seahawks
get the ball in overtime thankfully sam donald throws a ham sandwich
and then you know the
Broncos i i we all knew it they weren't going
to get a first down um the the design run that
bow had third and two and then just easily gave up
because he's scared of everything uh ryan
Fitzpatrick very clearly goes at him uh after the game
and criticizes his lack of effort lack of
drive and that is something i do want to get into in just a moment
but uh this is definitely a
problem that people are starting to notice is that like
this as much of like the fact that there's a
lot of different facets to why an offense isn't functioning uh
this does feel like above all else
a Bo Nix problem uh Dan Orlovsky this morning said
that Bo Nix right now doesn't want the ball in his
hands for the Broncos like he was going
in through play by play just complete almost like
disillusionment or or just like like a lack
of awareness lack of even understanding the play
calls he's going through it might even like be like
this guy's not studying film this guy doesn't
care like he used to uh you know I don't want
to like say it's like you know the fact that like he
started he's you know he and his wife started
a family this this uh past offseason and like
you know the two ankle surgeries like some people
are starting to wonder if he's like checked out
from football in general like it's just like there is it
but it's not just that he's also
scared of getting hurt again maybe the process
of healing wasn't nearly as i don't know good as we
were hoping um but this doesn't read to me as a guy
who's just injured this is a guy that is
frightened of being touched by a defender in his head
and just throwing like dirtying the ball on
every opportunity running out of bounds just
not taking any risks whatsoever um if you if you want
to look at one of the most baffling stats that i saw is that uh
so Doug Klosterman posted this on
twitter said there are 701 qualified quarterback
seasons through six games in the past 20 years
2026 Bo Nix ranks 701st out of 701 in average
pass length which is you know 4.9 air yards per
attempt his average pass was thrown behind the line
of scrimmage in the second half on thursday
he was not even throwing it past the line
of scrimmage we're not talking about the first down
line his average pass wasn't even past the line
of scrimmage he forgot how to throw the forward
pass so it's it he it cannot be understated
how poorly he is playing and this it's it's
I found it laughable that people were blaming
this on play calling people wanted a scapegoat
that outside of Bo Nix
but if you look at it it's got like the offense has gotten much worse
under Sean Payton's play calling than it
was under Davis Webb Davis Webb had 280 yards per game
Sean Payton threw two games as 196 yards
per game you want to tell me that's acceptable
it's disgusting and so it's just I I know I I knew it wasn't
a Davis Webb problem um some of
the sequencing of you know Davis's plays sure
could use improvement but man like Sean dude
you cannot be okay with this you cannot like
and it's fine I know I know we won the game
i know we did and we will we will praise the defense in other videos
but this is the story
because this offense is more anemic than the 2015 offense
and i don't say that lightly because that
was a rough watch uh but the only reason why we won
a super bowl that year because 2015 denver
broncos was one of the greatest defenses of all time
so far it's been a great start for the denver
defense outside of week one obviously um but man i just
and it doesn't help that the broncos don't
have a run game they don't you know it's uh
so uh jeffrey uh irisay or sorry um asari uh said
that or showed the stats of the broncos rushing yards
in the first half of 2025 versus the 2026
much better running game in the first half of 2025
and i was with you know a Dobbins who looked
a lot seem to have a lot more juice before
his season ending injury uh RJ Harvey not rushing
nearly as well but at least just was able to pick up the slack
when JK Dobbins went off the field
we had McLaughlin also uh doing some good stuff there
um obviously not having Jonah Coleman hurts
because of his injury being on IR right now
but uh yeah we we are having trouble barely eclipsing
100 yards in just two games of the season
so far one of them being against the Chargers
and the other one being against Jacksonville
but again it's just an unacceptable performance from
our running game and obviously that limits what
the Broncos offense can do but I don't even know
if it matters because Bo is just not not only is he
not seeing the field it seems like when he gets
the ball his first concern is how
to not like like Dan Orlovsky was saying how to not have the
ball in his hands how to have a play if it's
on his responsibility if a play is on like on him to
run the ball or do something designed for him how
to get it over as soon as possible and it's clear
it's it's clear at this point it's a mental block it's
a physical block it is an everything block
and i am i mean so here we go i just want to jump right
into the Ryan Fitzpatrick quote and this was
this is going to be everywhere rightfully
so but i remember watching it last night
and being stunned that a guy who's really a nice guy
and was a really fun quarterback to watch for a long time in the NFL,
this is what he had to say about Bo Nix.
He said, I'm glad that they scored
the two touchdowns in the first half,
but they were in four-minute mode when the second half started.
It was really frustrating to watch, and part of it for me
is that Bo Nix is not playing competitively.
it's almost disrespectful
to the quarterback position how he's playing football right now
in overtime he's got two chances to be competitive uh
the last one being a design run for him to run
make somebody miss and get a first down
for your football team now uh they're in the locker room
right now they're excited they won
but he's not playing competitive football right now scathing
scathing review um and and shocking to say the least uh that I mean
but not entirely untrue
and this comes into the conversation of the Bo Nix
his head is somewhere else right now
it's not in football I don't believe he's doing
nearly enough like review of tape I think that
the the winning has disguised the fact that Sean
and Davis is like they're worried about benching
Bo also because they don't think that Stidham
or Ellinger can run this this office much better
but it's funny because I'm feeling it's like deja vu
from last year where it's like in the
middle of the season Bo was looking really rough
and you start to put into question do you trade
for a quarterback by the trade deadline
which is a it would be a shocking move um but this is a
season you can't afford to waste on a quarterback
who might be disinterested in playing football
and i and again i i have a Bo Nix jersey i i do not say this lightly
but my the the eye test
doesn't deceive you the stats don't deceive you it
is just everything does not deceive you he's
not reviewing plays on his iPad like
on on the sideline he doesn't seem to be talking to people
like the fire the fire of Bo when he's like remember
when he was like yelling at Sean Payton
his rookie year where like he seemed
to really you know like care about like what was going on
on the field you don't see that this year he just
seems like resigned to the fact that his defense
is going to carry the team as long as he doesn't throw like
a game-ending pick and I'm seeing some
people defend Bo on Twitter being like hey like why
is everyone getting mad at Bo when Sam Darnold's
the one who threw like back-to-back interceptions
um you know at the end of the game sure that's
fine at least you are putting the ball downfield
so i just i i really it's weird that like you
know some people are saying like i'd rather
my my quarterback lose trying than win not trying at all
because like the lack of effort the lack
of competitiveness is really starting to rub the
wrong way off of fans like you know it's awesome
to watch a great defensive performance but it's
not fair to the fans to put that you know
this is an entertainment league in the end and you're
it's like you don't care
and you're losing yourself a big time contract but i don't care
what people say about whether you need to extend him
or not um you can't play the way that like
you know he he does for a good chunk of games get bailed out
by your defense and then get paid to
55 60 million he's not worth much of anything right now to be honest
and he needs to get that
turned around so i'm hoping i'm hoping he sees the fitzpatrick quote
and uses that as motivation
i want to believe as much as possible
because winning is still great but to compete for a
super bowl there has to be more there has
to be more fire someone needs to get in his ear
something has to change a mile high report trying
to go on a little bit of the pile positive side
said broncos are four and two after a brutal start
to the season against some of the better
teams in the nfl right now their only two losses
are to two undefeated teams being the chiefs and
niners they have their issues but uh i'm happy with four
and two the schedule does get easier
on paper from here on out
and joy will win those 10 years after super bowl 50 told us that they
don't always come often
so i'll end on that positive note we won we have a victory friday
right now that's great but man there are things to be concerned about
so uh what do you guys think
shout out in the comments down below what you guys think about all
this and uh until next video
we'll probably be doing some more uh fun defensive uh analysis
and uh you know reactions so go broncos
and and i'll see you in the next video
