This is massive for the Denver Broncos, and we have to talk about the fact that one of the top
guys at the Broncos, you know, we're raving about Mr. Irrelevant is back, sort of, with the Broncos.
I mean, listen, it's practice squad time, guys. Everyone on the waiver wire, it was waiver wire
period this morning or this afternoon, and now we know who is on the practice squad for the Broncos.
We can talk about the full list, including some players that were surprisingly cut and came back,
and then some players who were cut and did not come back. So, all that is going to be broken
down right here on the channel. Make sure to subscribe and join us. We are two weeks away
from the Broncos vs. Chiefs Monday night football game. Mahomes vs. Knicks, the two quarterbacks
who were injured, going at each other in Kansas City in Arrowhead. It's going to be beautiful,
and Broncos vs. Chiefs, I mean, what else can you ask for? It is one of the best rivalries in
football, reignited by the fact that the Broncos are now the threat in the AFC West, and the Chiefs
are playing catch-up to us. So, with that being said, let's just jump right into it, not wasting
anyone's time. The big piece of news is the practice squad has been announced, or the signings
were coming in. I was seeing different people report on, you know, all the signings that were
coming in. The big names, I would say, that came through here, Miles Scott, the seventh round
safety that was cut, we were like, oh man, like we're already kind of, you know, the safety room's
a little weak, like that's a little surprising. He's back on the practice squad, can continue,
you know, working with the team in that way. We also got a few long snappers. We were actually
going into the season with no long snappers on our roster, but now we got two on the practice
squad, which makes sense. Lucas Kroll is back on the team as a practice squad, the tight end.
We'll talk about the tight ends also in just a moment, but that one is a little bit of a concern.
Prentice, the fullback, is back on the team. Thank goodness, that one felt like a, that was the
biggest shock to me, of all of them. And Red Murdoch, the linebacker, Mr. Irrelevant, is also back.
We did lose a few others, which we will get into, but those are the big names, I would say, that
some would mention or some would recognize as, like, oh, I am surprised that we got rid of them.
There is probably one omission that I have not mentioned, which we will get into, that
really, you know, it was a surprise yesterday, and not too much of a surprise he did not come back,
considering he was a fifth round pick. But man, kind of crazy that, like, it just, like, went to
waste. We traded up for the guy, and we released him, and he did not come back. So, with all that
being said, you know, our tight end room, not too great, if I am being completely honest. Evan
Ingram is our starting tight end. As of right now, Adam Troutman is the backup. Nate Adkins and
Dallin Bentley, the rookie, is going to be the fourth string tight end. So, we have four tight
ends on the roster right now. I know everyone was kind of speculating, like, oh, by cutting,
you know who, or, you know, I do not have to beat around the bush at this point, Jolly,
that, like, maybe we are going to be, like, trading for a tight end. We have all this cap space.
But we also have four tight ends on the 53-man roster. It is not like we have, like,
two tight ends, and then, like, two guys in the practice squad. Like, it is four guys
taking up roster spots on the 53-man, and we have three quarterbacks. So, it is like,
it just seemed like these other guys, they had not played well enough to really deserve those
spots over these other guys, which is, it is really interesting. But yeah, speaking of Jolly,
yes, he did not come back. He did not re-sign with the Broncos. He instead,
on the waiver wire, got picked up by the Dolphins. So, people are kind of joking, like, oh,
he, you know, that is part of the Jalen Waddle trade, that they get Jolly. And it is,
listen, I was actually really excited when we picked up Jolly in the draft, and it is just
kind of bizarre just to see that go to waste all of a sudden. I mean, listen, this team is really
deep. They are really experienced. I get it. Like, if he just was not good enough, that should
be the case. You cannot do the sunk fallacy cost where it is like, oh, we spent a fifth-round pick
on him. We should at least give him a chance. It is just like, listen, man, maybe you are just,
you made the wrong decision. Maybe it just felt like he was not good enough when you went through,
like, all the minicamp, training camp, all that stuff. It is what it is. I mean, they even
mentioned it. I think Sean and George were like, yeah, he was a little bit behind. Like, we just,
that is not what we can afford. We cannot afford to give up a roster spot to a guy,
even a practice squad spot. I mean, they would have signed him back to the practice squad,
but the Dolphins got ahead of that. But they just could not afford a roster spot to a guy who just
felt like he was behind on a team that we have Super Bowl aspirations. So it is just, it is what
it is. But back to the really fun news of guys who made the team, Mike Kley's news said, okay,
a bit surprising, but not the fun news yet. This is also another one who did not make the team.
Inside linebacker, undrafted rookie, Terian York did not re-sign with the Broncos practice squad
per sources. York received the greatest signing bonus and guarantee among the Broncos undrafted
rookies. And then again, seventh round, inside linebacker, Red Murdoch got $120,000 signing bonus
and he is going to practice squad for a $200,000 plus salary. So yearly salary and he is going to
practice squad. It seemed like York was not impressed. He felt like he might have been
behind Murdoch in that stretch and was like, okay, I just do not see upward mobility here.
It feels like maybe I have a better chance of finding a starting position on another team,
which is almost like a college mentality. If you want to train me better, why not try and work
against just great defensive players, great competition. But again, I get it. You got to
work for a salary. You got to work for what makes the best sense for you, your family.
I do not judge that stuff. So Sarah Benninger said, looks like the team has officially moved
on from Jalen McLaughlin because he was also not re-signed onto the practice squad.
It is probably because other teams are interested in him being on their 53-man roster. We will find
out which team he ends up on, but practice squad was a bit too low for a guy like him who was
produced quite a bit in the season. So that is just kind of where things stand with him.
Two long snappers, very interesting. No Taylor Rapp has been signed on the practice squad. My
guess is that he is still dealing with those personal issues that he was released for.
My guess is that is going to bleed into the regular season. We will see when he comes back.
I think if the Broncos need him, if we have an injured safety,
they will call Rapp up sooner rather than later. And yeah, just some more wide receivers and
running backs just for kicker, kick return, punt return depth, but overall nothing too crazy.
An overall solid practice squad team that has a lot of potential, especially Murdoch. I think
everyone was really excited about him. When Zach Stevens reported that Sean and his presser
today said that Tyler Bidet got the edge over Jalen McLaughlin only because of special teams
that he has pointed out. So McLaughlin is not really a special teams guy. The Broncos were
looking for fits into certain schemes, into certain structures. It wasn't like
Bidet was more talented than McLaughlin. I would definitely argue the opposite. The
Broncos felt the same way. They said that it was very painful letting go of Jalen McLaughlin,
but they didn't need more running back depth. We've got Jonah Coleman as our running back three
right now, which could be just an absolute steal. And Bidet might just be able to provide more on
the special teams unit. So that's just what it comes down to. It's nothing against McLaughlin
or even talent wise against McLaughlin. It's just like, it's just an unfortunate thing of
depth where it's like, man, this is a deep team. We are excited to see what these guys can provide
for just going forward. But yeah, Justin Jolly, he's on the Dolphins. That was a big thing. York,
we don't know where he's signed yet. We will find out down the road. Prentice, I forgot to mention,
he is back as well. That was the cut that I was surprised by because we saw quite a bit of him in
the preseason and last year. I mean, he was just like a guy that was like, man, that is a Sean
Payton player. Some people are speculating regarding the tight end that looks like, oh,
are they going to go after, are they going to, is Sean going to bring in
Taysom Hill? Maybe. That hasn't been announced yet, but that is definitely at least a possibility.
But the one that I would say most people are excited about is Red Murdoch. Like,
I mean, inside linebacker, the depth there is spooky to say the least. He was impressing
during training camp and mini camp. So the surprise that he was cut is definitely warranted,
but the Broncos had other priorities, you know, like, listen, like he is still low raw,
could use more, you know, practice during the, with the practice squad. And if, you know,
his name is called where it's like an injury happens, I have no doubt the Broncos will call
him up. So, you know, I think that he sees his future with this team and that's why he signed
back onto the practice squad. He expects at some point, maybe his name will be called up
and I would not be surprised if we are seeing Red Murdoch on the field at some point this season,
hopefully not due to like lack of good play, but just, you know, probably injury concerns
or whatever happens, but I'm excited for him. He deserves it. He has been, you know, playing
his tail off. He's just an exciting player to watch, just plays with a lot of ferocity,
a lot of edge. And he's just an interesting, interesting guy to pay attention to. But
any of these names like stand out to you guys, I am curious to hear your thoughts on like,
which one maybe feels like the biggest surprise. I would say the biggest surprise on who got signed
back, probably Bidet over McLaughlin, but then there was the explanation. So that one now all
of a sudden is like, it reads, it's fine. I mean, I get it. It's just the fact that it's like, okay,
we like kept three quarterbacks on the 53-man roster and then got rid of McLaughlin,
feels a little like weird, but I'm not going to make too much of a thing of it. Like it's,
it's fine. Red Murdoch is easily the one I'm most excited about. Jolly being picked up by
another team. Not too surprised by that. What do you guys think? Shout in the comments down below
about the practice squad signings and non-signings. And until next video guys, I will see you then.
