His time is NOW...
Oct 30, 2026
His time is now, and it's time to really get,
you know, some help from our backup guys.
You know, we've always been thinking
about star power for the Denver Broncos,
and it's really time when people go down.
I think the story of this season has been who steps up,
because honestly, a lot of the stars of this season
that we expected to be just absolutely incredible
have really, I mean, they've been contributors, don't get me wrong.
But they haven't been living up to the hype
that we really once were expecting going into this season.
Now here we are.
We're 5-2, which is not a bad spot to be in at all,
despite our schedule.
We have a huge game against the Chiefs, which,
you know, we're playing for first place
and just massive playoff implications.
Thank you.
Probably who's going to be hosting a playoff game,
you know, come January.
But despite all that,
there's like an injury thing going on right now that we need to discuss
It's big. It's a big player,
and it seems like things are leaning towards, you know,
number 17 not playing this week against the Chiefs,
which means another guy who got hurt at the beginning of the season
and wasn't playing for a lot of games is going
to have to take up that role a little bit,
or at the very least play
a much bigger role than maybe previously expected.
And, you know, it's not like we haven't had big plays with him before.
So make sure to subscribe, join the channel,
comment, share, like, all that good stuff.
And without further ado...
Uh, let's jump into it.
So, uh, what, what happened?
Obviously Jalen Waddle went down with an injury and he was,
sorry, Sean Payton was very clear
about him being like disappointed about the fact that,
uh, you know, that happened off
of a call that he made against the Arizona Cardinals.
That was felt very unnecessary, got a little too fancy,
uh, just got, you know, Sean has
a tendency to feel like when they have good momentum.
Just, like, try and blow the doors off of the team
by doing something unexpected,
when typically the best answer is to kind
of keep doing what you're doing
until they stop you.
So he even apologized for the play call,
which is something you rarely see
from Sean Payton apologizing in general.
He apologized saying, like, it was an awful play call.
I'm sorry.
Sorry.
He was laughing about it.
But, like, other people weren't finding it as humorous,
considering Jalen Waddle got hurt on that play.
That's not Sean's fault by any means,
but, like, the context of, like,
okay, you knew he got hurt during that play,
so, like, to smile about it is also a little weird.
So that's where people are being kind of rubbed the wrong way
regarding that situation.
And then, you know, this was the play where it happened,
and so it said that, like,
Someone said, we just got the Jalen Waddle special,
had an opportunity to gain massive
chunk of yards on a sweep play, and fumbled the ball and lost yards.
So maybe that's the Dolphins fans speaking from experience.
Price Carter said, people spent all offseason
talking about Waddle like it was a massive
addition.
Real quick, what's your favorite Jalen Waddle highlight?
My point exactly.
I would, I mean, my point against that.
That one play against the Jaguars was really cool,
where Bowe was rolling out to his right and threw it on the run.
It was almost a touchdown for Waddle.
Thank you.
But yeah, he has not been an absolute highlight reel for us.
Granted, I don't think that's fair to pin on Waddle.
I don't think really anyone
so far has been a highlight reel for this offense so far.
I'm kind of hoping Jonah Coleman's going to open things up again.
We will find out, though.
I just don't – I don't know. We'll see.
That's my prediction, whether that's going to happen or not.
That's just a whole other thing entirely.
And then so there was a lot of debate going on about what's going
to happen now that it seems like Jalen Waddle is out.
Quote, um...
You know, Sean said that, you know,
it's time for Marvin Mims Jr. to be more than just like a kick returner.
He said he said we're trying to get him more touches.
He's one of our most explosive playmakers.
We need him to get, you know,
just more touches on offense and we will do that.
So he sounded very definitive about his goal to.
And this was not like being asked about like, oh,
because Jalen Waddle is out, he just wants to get Mims the ball more.
Now, granted, Sean says a lot of things.
It's really hard to trust him
or take his word for it during any press conference.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And so.
Yeah, like, this has been something that a lot
of Broncos fans have been begging for for a long time.
Just doing some more, like, design plays for Mims.
You got to think about, like, we still don't have Pat Bryant.
He's still on IR, you know, and no Waddle.
So that means, like,
the main trio is going to be Sutton, Mims, and Franklin,
who we're going to have to rely on for the game against the Chiefs,
which we basically did last year.
Like, that's not something that's, like, too crazy by any means.
Shoot, even little Jordan Humphrey
was scoring touchdowns against the Bills in the playoffs.
Like, we've had to really use our depth
to beat some of these big teams.
It's just, you know, that's the...
The part that people are worried
about, which is, you know, fair enough.
I am, too.
I do.
Everyone was, like, worried about the—it was a chest injury because,
like, Jalen, like, landed on the ball.
And then it seemed kind of, like, awkward there.
Like, is he okay?
Like, is it, like—I hope it's not a collarbone.
Like, people were really worried about that.
It does not seem like that's the case.
It seems like, you know—
They're listing him as questionable for this week.
Um, my...
Everyone's expecting him not to play,
but it just seems like he avoided long-term injury,
which is a huge, huge sigh of relief for a lot of people
because it was just not a great look, you know.
And it just, you know, it was an unfortunate play.
Like, a lot of people are going to blame Sean for it
because it was a play that never needed to be called.
It was blown up from the start,
and it just feels like every time we try a trick play, it doesn't work.
And so, not to completely give up on,
you know, trick plays or anything like that,
but maybe it's just time to reevaluate when they should be called,
who should be involved, stuff like that.
Just because you don't want to see anyone get injured, first of all,
but a Jalen Waddle, like, you know, it sucks to...
To miss him in a game like this against the Chiefs.
Sean Payton, when talking about Mims,
he said that a lot of it has
to do with the way that they were kicking off.
We kind of, as you noticed, went more to a single returner,
and certainly that first one,
that first return that puts us in midfield
was a big one for us.
So Sean recognizes that by having Mims do all of the returns,
both on kicks and punts,
You know, it's hard to, like, also incorporate him on the offense.
Just defenses are going to dial in on him and exhaust him a lot faster.
So there is something to...
To acknowledge their strategy.
There's a human element to this.
So Travis Wakeman from Broncos Wire said,
Mims is a talented player.
The problem for him is going to be where he fits going forward.
The Broncos seem to have a plan in the passing game.
And it's hard to see where Mims would have much of a role in it.
Courtland Sutton, Jalen Waddle, and Pat Bryant have been featured.
While Troy Franklin seems to have seen the minimal snaps,
Mims might see even less.
So will the Broncos offer Mims a new contract this offseason?
Will they let him hit free agency?
Or will they look to get something for him
while they still can in the trade deadline
before this year's, you know, before the trade deadline,
which is, you know, November 10th.
So it's coming up.
It's unclear what Denver's plans are,
but it's possible we're watching Mims' final season with the Broncos.
So obviously it's not a great way to look at it.
But at the same time...
You just have to acknowledge where things stand.
And, you know, uh...
Mims has been, I've wanted to keep Mims as much as possible.
His return, like having a good returner is so underrated.
Look at like what Shahid has done for the Seahawks.
It just, it's just another thing for teams
to game plan for and worry about.
And for head coaches to stay up
an extra 30 minutes or an hour game planning,
make them a bit more tired on game day.
He has made some clutch catches, some big time moments.
And I just hope that the team.
You know, uses him earlier in games rather than just waiting
for the fourth quarter where
Boes just throwing to anyone running any kind of route.
So that's where I stand on this.
I think that Mims is an extremely valued part of this team.
I think that he can be a massive addition.
Not addition, but just a really valuable sub
for Jalen Waddle while he's out.
Hopefully he's not out for very long because I want,
as the season progresses,
for us to get a little bit more familiar,
just be on the same page as each other
with a rotating receiver group.
You know, it's...
I don't know if that's ever a good thing,
but at least these guys all have several seasons under
their belt of playing with Bowe.
You would figure that they'll be on the same page.
We'll find out, though.
When it comes to Broncos' offenses these days,
I have zero expectations.
I don't know what to expect.
I hope to be surprised, obviously.
Like the Bowe 62-yard run was absolutely a surprise.
But that doesn't mean I'll expect that ever again.
Or, you know, what's going to happen in the Chiefs game.
Is Bowe going to be using his legs a lot?
I don't know.
Maybe, maybe not.
And that's got to be kind of frustrating for Chiefs to be
game-playing against them.
It's like, what kind of Bowe are we going to be getting?
What kind of receiver group performance are we
going to be getting? How are they
going to use these guys? All of this is going to be
massive questions for the Chiefs, which
I think is a good thing. It's just
a matter of whether they can
stay on top of it. Will
Sutton actually have a big game at some
point? I don't know. I don't think
it's a...
I don't think Sutton's, like, washed or anything like that.
I just think that this, like, this defense is, or sorry,
this offense is just really grinding the gears
and figuring out what is their identity.
So I want to ask you guys, what is the identity of the Denver Broncos?
Do you know?
Do you have any idea?
Do you want to see some kind of offense go to work?
Um...
I don't know. I'm just curious.
I am curious on where you see Marvin Mims,
where you see, like, will the absence of Jalen Waddell
completely hinder this offense?
All that good stuff.
