And as we continue to monitor our wet
and soggy Friday across western Connecticut,
the good news is that a lot of the heaviest rainfall is mainly south
and east across the Sound, but we are still looking at pockets
of heavy downpours making its way across our shoreline residents,
especially just outside of Bridgeport.
A closer look at what we have going on.
If you're going to be traveling later for this morning
or even heading into lunchtime, just be prepared for wet roads.
But the good news is we're not expecting
a very widespread thunderstorms for the next couple of hours,
but around 1 o'clock and into 2 o'clock, so early for this afternoon,
1 to 3, is going to be our next best chance that we're going
to see some stormy activity picking up for us, not only in Norwalk,
but much of the western half of Fairfield County
and even western Connecticut as well.
So what we have going on, when is the next round of rain?
So once we're done with this batch,
we are expecting a bit of a dry period that's very brief.
So going close to around the noon hour, we'll see maybe a couple
of sprinkles lingering, but overall not looking for real collective
or organized rainfall until we get closer to a two o'clock.
That's where we'll start to see a bit more of those pockets and bands
of some clusters of showers, not even just thunderstorms developing
in the southwest corner of Fairfield County and stretching
its way north and east as the system continues to push east.
Now think between 1 to 3 o'clock is going to be your next best chance
for us to see any real rainfall and then improvements will finally come
as we get closer to that 6, 7 o'clock hour for this evening.
So we're still dealing with periods of rain not only from the morning
but early for the day. So it's the first half that's wet
but the second half does improve as we get closer to tonight.
As temperatures look to plummet towards the 50s
and the rain will come to an end.
