STORM WATCH: Conditions expected to improve this afternoon in Brooklyn

As we continue to monitor our messy
Friday across the Brooklyn area,
here's a few things to note for this
morning as we are still dealing with a
few showers lingering the heavy downpours
and thunderstorms as of right now.
That threat looks to be ending for us
as we get closer to the back end of our
morning and heading into the early afternoon.
So a few things to note the bulk and
strength of the storm system is out
towards the east, but we're still going
to be dealing with some lingering shower.
It's throughout much of the morning and into the early afternoon,
so you're still going to want the rain gear nearby,
but you don't have to worry about drenching
downpours too much more heading into the afternoon.
But a few things to note.
As we get closer to noon, there will
be a period where it will be on the drier side.
So I'm thinking in between 10 and 11 o'clock,
it's going to shape up to be rather dry,
but a couple of showers and sprinkles will be developing close
to noon hour and early for the afternoon as well,
between 2 and 3 o'clock.
Now, after 3 o'clock, we are looking for another dry period.
There's a bit of back and forth, so be mindful.
From noon to 2, that's where we could see some heavy downpours.
3 o'clock, a bit more dry.
And as we get closer to 5 o'clock, we could see,
once again, a couple of sprinkles would be possible.
But then we're expecting for things
to really improve heading into this evening and for tonight.
So you won't need the rain gear past 5 o'clock necessarily, but...
Again, from noon to 2 o'clock, that's going to be our next chance
for us to see not only potentially a thunderstorm,
but the heavier downpours, especially across not only Sunset Park,
but our neighborhoods for this borough as well.
And temperatures are expected to be around the upper 60s.
But again, the rain is mainly for the early parts of the day.
The second half is going to be seeing much more improvements.
So just be prepared to keep the rain gear close by.
