Chaka Khan opens Chaka's PlantBaed Cafe in Serenbe community

All right, I want to bring in Tammy Michelle here, who is the co-director of the Shaka Khan Foundation on this Sunday. You guys are doing something really cool with the Plant-Based Cafe. I'm so happy that you're able to join us here. Walk us through what's taking place and the event that's taking place today. So I actually am Shaka's manager and co-founder of the Shaka's Cafe, Shaka's Plant-Based Cafe. And we are... Celebrating our grand opening today at the Motto Hamlet of Serenbeek community. Thank Very, very happy to be bringing a plant-based option to this community. We've been a part of this community since we moved here almost three years ago from Los Angeles. And we're very challenged to find plant-based food in this area. And so we'd always go to the Vinings area where... you. Plant-Based Cafe originated, and we would get food there. And when we were looking at the opportunity to have this actual... Then you be provided to this community. We we asked Anne the proprietor of Plant-Based in Vinings if she would be so kind to let us know when they were looking to expand and we got that call one day and the rest kind of just unfolded from there when she expressed that they were, in fact, interested in expanding and we live in this community. We thought this was the perfect opportunity to bring. This food to this community and so Shaka was was so happy to put her name on it because she's a huge fan of the food that Anne's Plant-Based provides and so we are bringing that with a little twist of Shaka. We have a Shaka's bowl which is only available at this location with through the fire sauce on it and we're just the community is very excited about it coming here because there are not any plant-based locations here. So we are honored. Plant-Based Cafe offers GMO free, soy free cuisine and you got to come out and try. We have walnut meat based recipes and it's just awesome. So good. So good. And today is a great. Festivity day here, too. Perfect. Okay. First of all, I apologize for that. Manager and co-founder, we want to make sure that we get your title correctly there. So we appreciate that. Walk us through just overall. Some people might be a little skeptical of plant-based. They might not know. But the food is really good. Walk us through that and how you're reaching so many people who might not usually try food like this and what you hope they walk away after they're tasting such delicious food. Well, I'll tell you, a lot of people ask Shaka, you know, how she was able to release so much weight because she's, you know, there's, and looks so amazing at 73. And she really does attribute it to rest, of course, hydration, but also largely a plant-based diet. And so everything that she, another little note is I'm actually Shaka's sister. And so In our family, whenever we've been presented with a challenge, we tend to fold that into her foundation and provide it to the community at large. So when she was challenged with losing weight and wanting to get healthy, she started a plant-based. And it helped her release high blood pressure and other health challenges. So we thought, you know, why not offer that to the community at large? And so that is what we're doing with the Chaka Khan Foundation on a personal level. And then we're also going to today be unveiling a communication board in the Tara School, which is right next door, right down the street from the cafe. Thank Folds into another initiative of the Chaka Khan Foundation, which is supporting neurodivergent youth and adults. And with this initiative, you we're supporting kids who may need assistance with communication by using a visual communication board. so And we're gifting that to the community today as well. Okay. So I want to make sure that people at home are watching. much. They have all of the things. The ribbon cutting will take place at 1:30. That playground communication board, that is at 2. And it is at 11105 Serenbe Lane, that's suite 100 in Chattahoochee Hills. Overall, people watching this, what do you hope that they ultimately take away? What do you hope is the ultimate message that's received? The ultimate message is that Shaka cares and we want to support the well-being So people, body, mind, and spirit, and everything that we do, we're striving to do that with every initiative and with every product that we bring forth. We are seeking to do that. So we just want everyone to come out, have a good time for Serenbe Day, and experience a little. We're going to be providing samples of the food from the cafes so you get an opportunity to taste a little as well. And come say hi to Shaka. She'll be here, of course.
