The baby left in a hot car while her caregivers went shopping.
A Good Samaritan saw the child wrapped
in a blanket, sweating and crying.
Thankfully, Titusville police saved that baby and the two suspects,
Well, they saw a judge today.
Esther Bauer live in Brevard County.
So, Esther, that baby thankfully is expected to be okay.
That is the best news in this absolutely horrible situation.
We are told the baby was really not injured and is expected
to make a full recovery. But this could have been so much worse.
We're told the baby was left in that vehicle for nearly 30 minutes
and the vehicle was not even locked. New body cam shows the moment
when Titusville police rescued a crying baby from a car. As
Disturbing as all of these reported facts are,
Let's all be grateful that this child was not kidnapped
or suffered death or serious bodily injury.
The judge finding probable cause on Friday against these two caregivers
for child neglect and leaving a child unattended in a vehicle.
Zoe Connor and Ethan Humes were shopping
when they allegedly left a baby in the back seat.
Unattended.
For what I calculate to be a total
of about 21 minutes in the middle of the afternoon.
Thankfully, a good Samaritan spotted the child who appeared red,
sweaty, and was crying.
She called 911 and TPD was on scene in minutes.
The vehicle was reportedly turned off
so the child had no air conditioning.
Police say the car was also unlocked with the child inside.
At risk of being abducted by a stranger.
When interviewed by police, Zoe said that she had
been very overwhelmed in her personal life recently
She and Ethan just moved and she's on dialysis three times a week.
Ethan advised that they do not usually leave the house with RD,
so it completely slipped his mind when they arrived at Petco.
And both suspects are behind bars here
at the county jail on $50,000 bonds.
I also spoke with that good Samaritan
eyewitness earlier today who tells me
she was just very thankful she
was in the right place at the right time.
